When fall hits I always look forward to the start of football season. I get to spend quality time with my husband as we cheer on our team, even if sometimes the highs and lows of a game can take me on an emotional rollercoaster. Food is one thing that will always bring people together during the game, regardless of team rivalries. Tailgating at home can make the fan experience even more enjoyable. With just a few simple touches, you can make game day awesome. So round up some friends and offer some tasty eats to show off your team spirit like these Football Chili Bowls!

Football Chili Bowls

These football chili bowls are easy to make with just three simple ingredients. Using Wolf Brand Chili, bakery fresh rolls and your favorite cheese, you can make this crowd-pleasing recipe in just a few minutes!

Football Chili Bowls

I picked up these small hoagie rolls from my local warehouse club bakery that are similar in shape to a football, perfect for holding some chili! I removed the top middle section of bread at an angle to create a chili bowl. (You may need to remove some of the inside of the roll in order to make more room.)

Using a cooking scoop, I filled up four rolls with 1/2 cup of heated Wolf Brand Chili and then topped with slices of pepper jack cheese to resemble football laces. You can easily swap out your favorite white cheese such as provolone or Monetary Jack, or even consider sour cream in a squeeze bottle and let guests draw their own laces.

After heating them up again to melt the cheese, they were ready for serving!

By adding a few fun touches, you can create a game day spread that really shows off your team spirit. Consider general football themed party supplies or feature your team’s colors. With some spirited napkins and wooden picks, you can create a fun atmosphere to serve your fan fuel.

These bowls were a fun way to eat chili and nothing was left of the bowl itself when finished.  The soft bread coated in chili was amazing!
