Fuzzy Lamb Paper Plate Craft Tutorial

There’s nothing quite as sweet as a little lamb. I have three stuffed lambs in memory of my babies so I have a soft spot for them I guess. I created this craft for my Tuesday night church group kiddos and I think they came out pretty cute. This one is simple and fun and oh so fuzzy.

MATERIALS

  • Paper plate
  • Construction paper
  • Pencil or marker
  • Scissors (safety scissors for little ones)
  • Stapler
  • Cotton balls
  • Glue of your choice
  • *Optional: Googly eye

DIRECTIONS

1) Prepare the construction paper for your child first. I used some common household items to trace the shapes for each part of the lamb. The head was a small bowl. The legs were a hand sanitizer bottle. The others were simply drawn on the page and of course you could do this for all of them. You’ll need 1 circle or oblong head, 4 rectangular legs, 1 oval tail, and 1 triangular ear (unless you’re like my daughter who had to paste one on the back because “lambs DO have two ears mommy!”). Let your child cut out each of the shapes.

2) Staple the shapes onto the paper plate in the appropriate places. I suggest an adult doing this unless the child is older. *These could also be applied with a glue stick but the stapler worked great and was quick and easy.

3) Draw the face on your little lamb. If you have a googly eye it really adds personality.

4) Apply glue onto the entire plate overlapping where the paper is attached so it’s covered.

5) Stick cotton balls over the body and let dry.

** You could do a simple variation of this by mixing glue with shaving cream before applying the cotton balls like we did on this adorable polar bear craft tutorial.

  1. I remember making a lamb when I was in kindergarten using cotton balls and they put a necklace with bell on it and it was the cutest. I like this, reminds me of mine way back many year ago

  2. these would be cute to put over the actual plates on the table for easter as place markers, each kid could make a lamb in a different color so they know who is which, very fun idea, love this.
