Getting Excited for Easter with Wilton {Review & Giveaway} CLOSED

It seems that every holiday that comes around gives me everyone another excuse to bake. Yet another reason to create adorable treats around a central theme and Wilton certainly has you covered this Easter. From bunny shaped whoopie pie pans to carrot cookie cutters, Wilton has a offers selection of products and ideas to add to your Easter celebration.

Before visiting Wilton earlier this week, I got my Easter baking groove on with two shaped pans, the non-stick mini bunny pan and the springtime cupcake pan. Using both worked perfectly for a single cake mix and allowed me to also bake an additional 6 regular sized cupcakes with the leftovers.

Simply fill the cavities to the recommended levels (3/4 of the way for the bunny pan  and where the cupcake starts to change shape for the cupcake pan) and bake.  Since they do bake at different time frames it was easy to get the bunny pan in and baking while I worked on filling the cupcake cavities.

After giving the bunny cakes a few minutes to cool, I cut the tops off to make them level. I love the taste of fresh and warm cake from the oven!

To make decorating even easier and more unique, I decided to try out Duncan Hines Amazing Glazes in chocolate. Have you tried this out yet? I hate to use this term but OMG this stuff was amazing. It seriously tastes like the glaze from a chocolate donut and is so easy. Simply warm it up in the microwave, shake and pour. My only word of caution is that it sets up fast so if you would like to decorate you need to move quickly!

I love the unique shapes the pans create and how shiny the glaze makes these little cakes! It really didn’t take much at all to make the sprinkles really pop!

Doesn’t it look like he is saying, “I’m too cute to eat?” I think so.

I used the same method for the springtime cupcakes. I love how this pan makes such cool shapes in the top with no effort on my part! I also used Wilton’s royal icing nest decorations which really tie in the Easter theme.

Note: When it comes out of the oven it may appear that they haven’t really filled out enough to take the shape of the pan but after removing them it is easy to see that they have!

This really makes for a colorful and amazing display that looks hard but is anything but difficult to make. And the chocolate glaze paired with the yellow cake was simply scrumptious!

With the extra cupcakes I used Wilton’s sweet spring combo pack which includes both Easter themed cupcake liners and picks. I also tried out the colorful basket wraps which really adds dimension.

Tip: It is easier to attach the handles into the slot of the basket if you fold one of the flaps down before doing so, then flatting the flap back out once you’ve inserted it.
