Jack Skellington Donut Pops: Easy No-Bake Halloween Treat

With all of the Halloween treat ideas floating around, I admit I find myself attracted to those that are fun, but still quick and easy. And this is especially important if I plan to host a Halloween party. I am notorious for over doing it when it comes to the food. Everything I pick might look easy but I never seem to have enough time to get it all done. Simple treats and snacks that fit the theme but can be created in a short amount of time are winners to me. These Jack Skellington Donut Pops are definitely easy and only require a few supplies. The perfect kind of Halloween treat!
Ingredients and Supplies
- Powdered sugar donut holes
- Food safe black marker
- Black & white paper straws
- Floral foam (optional)
- Halloween bucket/tub (optional)
Directions
Draw a Jack Skellington face on your donut holes with a food safe marker. (I used Wilton Food Writer.) The marker will pick up the powdered sugar so you’ll want to gently wipe the marker with a paper towel as you go, removing the sugar often. Go over each face a couple of times until the black shows through.
Gently insert the donut hole head onto a paper straw.
Push donut pop into floral foam to keep the pops upright.
Repeat this step for as many donut pops you want!
I had originally tried using an icing writer instead so the black would really show up, but I didn’t realize it was a gel and it literally rolled right off the powdered sugar. Since I already had the food safe pens, it was an easy solution.
Have fun with how you present them. You could even some fun ribbon to the straw or present your pops in fun Halloween themed mason jars instead of using foam.
Savings tip: check your local dollar store for floral foam.
While the black doesn’t show up perfectly on the donut hole, I think this adds to the scary look. My kids were immediately drawn to these donut holes. They would make a special breakfast for Halloween morning or a fun party treat. And because I picked up the donut holes for just a couple of dollars from my grocery store bakery, they were inexpensive too!
