Kraft Foods BlogEats Conference 2011 {Giveaway} CLOSED

In October I had the pleasure of visiting the Kraft Foods BlogEats conference for bloggers. For someone like me who loves to bake and absolutely loves food (sometimes a little too much) it was a match made in heaven! I had the opportunity to meet some amazing bloggers and see some old friends again which always makes the trip more enjoyable.  Can you spot me in the group picture? (I’m the one wearing purple in the front row.)
I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect except that I knew they would probably feed us some amazing things. That certainly wasn’t a disappointment as they fed us very well and often. I think you could have rolled me out of that event!

We participated in a hands on recipe challenge which required the use of certain ingredients and preparing it in a short amount of time. My group created these parfaits which had some more unique fall flavors and textures. It was fun trying to be creative under pressure!

We also broke out into some very informative small group sessions to learn tips and tricks for food photography and video and ways to improve SEO.  This was the first company sponsored event that I had been to that looked to improve our skills as bloggers as opposed to mostly just about the company and their product.  I loved these sessions which gave us time to work with a professional in a small group setting. And of course, no Kraft event would be complete without a lot of new Kraft products to test out. Some were already on the market and others we have to wait to spill until they are publicly announced.  We were sent home with goodie bags and a box filled with new assorted Kraft products to share with our families.

It was essentially an all day munch fest. I loved these Sweet Cinnamon Wheat Thins. I can imagine them served up with a cream cheese dip at a party or as an afternoon snack!

In our smaller groups we also made a quick dinner using the new Velveeta Cheesy Skillet Dinner Kit. This was a super fast meal solution for busy families and had all the creaminess and flavor you would expect from Velveeta. I had pretty much written off all boxed dinners until I tried this.

The big surprise of the day was getting a ride in the Oscar Mayer Weienermobile! Yes, it is as cool as it looks to ride around town in a big wiener as pedestrians pull out their camera phone to snap your picture or other drivers honk their horns.
I wasn’t sure what to expect on the inside but the theme certainly plays out within the vehicle. If I had taking a ride in a unique vehicle on my non existent bucket list it would now be checked off!

Here is the sizzle reel from the event if you want to check out our fun!

And of course I can’t talk about all the goodies we received without giving my readers the opportunity to win the same box that I received featuring the products below! The big hit at home was the brain Jello mold which we used to create a black brain for Halloween that my kids are still talking about now. We also loved the Chips Ahoy! Chewy Gooey cookies which feature fudge in the middle. Those cookies did not stand a chance with my husband who devoured them in a couple of days. And the new creamy Planters peanut butter which has a great peanut taste and lasted a very short time with our peanut butter loving boys. Yum!
