Not Me Monday- #4

I love Not Me Monday created by My Charming Kids so I’ll take this time to reflect on what I did not do this past week.

This past week I did not witness the first true bickering between my 2 ½ year old and 13 month old from the backseat of the car. That can’t be since they are still so young. I did not here my two year old protest, “No, baby! Don’t touch it!”, and a grunting squeal from my youngest as he grasped the top of Lucian’s beloved CARS backpack. “Baby, NO!! It’s my backpack. You can’t touch it!” I then did not proceed to tell Lucian that Warren isn’t hurting his backpack and that he should share. I did not get this response, “No, baby, no!” as he ripped the backpack from his brothers hands. This very precious backpack was not immediately removed from the back seat to sit in my lap either. (Daddy was driving.) This surely couldn’t have happened already so I’m glad it didn’t.

I also did not get a call from my dear hubby while shopping with Lucian on Saturday. While I would have thought this call would have been to ask when I was coming home, instead it simply could NOT have been to find out if he used the right settings on our washing machine in order to *gasp* wash a load of his running clothes. This couldn’t have happened since my husband probably averages one or two loads a YEAR of laundry. I must have been dreaming or maybe this was the yearly wash and I won’t experience that moment of elation again for 365 days. Hmm….

And lastly, for a good chuckle at my expense, I did not try out icy hot for the first time last week for my shoulder. I did not rub it into my throbbing shoulder blade thinking to myself, “Wow, this stuff doesn’t really do much for my soreness.” before realizing that I needed to go the bathroom. I did not make the mistake of NOT washing my hands beforehand. While there may have been NO DIRECT CONTACT with my “unmentionables” I definitely did not almost immediately after washing my hands notice a tingling sensation in the spot I won’t mention. I did not grow increasingly uncomfortable, wondering how on earth I managed to get any icy hot there anyway. I did not feel this strange and unwelcome burn for about a half hour. And even after washing my hands twice I did not feel a numbing of my lips and chin as I sat reading emails at our computer. This couldn’t have happened to me. NOT ME!
