Whether you have just started seeing each other, have been dating for a while, or married for years, romantic date nights are a necessity in any relationship. But they don’t all have to be expensive or involve much planning other than a date that you are both available. Look over these simple romantic date ideas, perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Romantic Date Ideas for Valentines DayLearn to dance.

Taking a dance class can be very romantic. Learning new things with one another exposes new positive feelings and that is beneficial for bonding and relationship goals. Learn to salsa and have a good time! Get dressed up and show off those skills for a fun date night.

Romantic Evening at Beach

Spend an evening on the beach.

Often times couples try too hard to make date night “new” and “exciting”. Instead, try something like going to the beach before sunset. Bring some snacks and wine, and just enjoy life for a few hours. The most important thing is to talk. Many couples don’t talk as much as they should especially when they lead busy lives. Talk about anything that you’d like, watch the sun go down, and relax.

Romantic Couple Making Snow Angels

Play in the snow.

If you live in a cold weather climate, spending time outside in the snow is a great alternative to the beach. Whether you go simple like building a snowman or making snow angels, or something a bit more thrilling like sledding, skiing or snowmobiling, this is a great way to get some exercise and some Vitamin D during those cold winter months. When was the last time you had a snowball fight? Feeling like a kid again with your partner is a great way to spend the day. Afterwards, enjoy some hot cocoa together with whipped cream!

Spa night/day.

Whether they admit it or not, men love to be pampered just as much as women. Head over to the spa for a romantic couples massage. Many spas have an array of options for couples and a good number of them are “getaways” if you prefer to spend an extended period of time there rather than just a massage. Rent a room, get pampered, have a great meal and enjoy your relaxing time together.

Romantic Picnic

Picnic.

Grab a picnic basket and a blanket and head to the park or the pond. Have a picnic, feed the ducks, and maybe sit on the dock. End your evening with some tasty ice cream and star gazing. If your city offers movies in the park, that is another great way to spend your evening. If you live in an area that is too cold for this, consider having a picnic on the floor in your living room.  It is surprising how romantic eating on the floor can actually be. With some candlelight and perhaps some wine, enjoy an evening talking and seeing where things lead.

Romantic Relationship

Cooking together.

Another way to do something with one another without spending a ton of money is to cook together. There isn’t even a need to leave home for this one. Decide on a new meal that you both enjoy, cook it together, and end the night with some sweets and favorite movies.

Don’t limit these ideas for Valentine’s Day! Spending quality time with your significant other is a great way to keep your romance alive year round.
