On Friday we were hit with a snowstorm here in Minnesota. My kids couldn’t wait to go outside and play, especially since it was the first snow of the season. My husband headed outside to join in the fun after I helped get the boys bundled up. I couldn’t resist taking out my camera and capturing a few moments of the fun.
Afterwards we headed inside for our traditional hot chocolate to warm up. These are special family moments that we experience often. And I can’t help but think about how lucky we are as a family. Everyone is safe and warm and healthy. Unfortunately that isn’t the reality for all families.
As a parent, there is nothing I fear more than not being able to protect my kids from anything that may hurt them. I can’t imagine what it must be like for parents who have been told the devastating news that their child has cancer. If I could give any parent in this situation anything at all, it would be hope. That is why I’m proud to partner with Aflac to raise funds to end childhood cancer.
Aflac has passionately supported the fight against childhood cancer for more than 20 years and is calling on individuals across America to get involved this holiday season through its #Duckprints campaign. Aflac has passionately supported the fight against childhood cancer since 1995, donating more than $111 million towards research and treatment!
Build Your Own Balloonicle
To help boost donations and awareness during the holiday season, Aflac has developed a new online game, “Build Your Own Balloonicle,” where consumers can create their own Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade balloonicle, featuring the beloved Aflac Duck. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and it is the Aflac Duck’s sixth year as a part of the festivities. Every game experience shared on social media with #Duckprints will generate a $2 donation toward children’s cancer (up to $1.5 million).
Head over to Aflac today to get started and leave YOUR footprint in the fight against childhood cancer! It is a quick and easy way to give your support.
You can also get involved in the fight against childhood cancer any time of year by simply taking to social media and using the hashtag #Duckprints. For any Duckprints-related social media activity, Aflac will donate $2 to the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, in support of childhood cancer treatment and research (up to $1.5 million dollars). Follow the Aflac Duck on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@AflacDuck) or visit Aflac Duckprints for more information.
So what are you waiting for? Together we can support the fight to end childhood cancer!
