A Girl For All Time Offers Classic Timeless Dolls For The Holidays

Are you looking for a special gift for a girl this Christmas?  You may recall this past August my daughter Danica received A Girl For All Time Doll Amelia.  She loves Amelia very much and I think she would make such a great gift for any little girl.  Not only is she a great doll, but she comes with a great story that is both interesting and educational.

a girl for all time

Amelia is from 1880 London and offers a historically accurate story from a young girls point of view teaching girls what the Victorian Era was all about.  Amelia is just one in the series of 3 dolls based on 500 years of the fictional Marchmont Family.

There’s Clementine, who survives the evacuation of London in 1939 as a 12-year-old. Matilda is a Tudor girl from King Henry VIII’s Court and Amelia

We recently received Amelia’s Party Dress for review and it is exquisite.  You may recall in my initial review how impressed I was with the quality of her clothing:  “The fabric is so soft and thick and all of the closures are snaps which appear to be hand sewn on (no velcro except on her boots).  Seriously, her clothes are amazing.  She came with multiple layers and all are well made.  I also love that the hat she came with comes with an elastic band so it stays on her head.”

Made from pink taffeta-silk, this jacket and skirt outfit has mutton sleeves with lace trimmed collar and a detachable bustle trimmed in velvet with taffeta ruffles. Shoes and feathered walking hat are included.

A Girl For All Time Amelia's Party Dress 20This outfit is every bit the same quality as the one she comes dressed in.  He party dress is actually a top and a skirt with shoes and a hat.  It does not come with the undergarments but you should already have them with the doll, so not a big deal.  All of the edges of the dress are finished properly to prevent fraying.  All of the snaps are securely sewn on (again, no velcro).  It is very hard to capture just how beautiful it is in pictures.  There is a soft velvet ribbon sewn around the bottom of the dress and the sleeves with lace at the end of the sleeves.  Beautiful pearly buttons line the front of the top.

By far, my favorite (and Danica’s) part of this dress is the bustle in the back.  Danica said the bustle and the pick-ups in the front reminded her of her aunt’s wedding dress.

While her hat is beautiful it did not want to sit properly on her head.  All of the pictures show it worn on the very front of her head, but when we tried to do this, the feather wanted to tip forward.  It is so pretty and well made,  with lace over satin and a flower with feathers in front.  I love that it has elastic attached too.  We just found we needed to wear it a little further back on her head to sit properly.

A Girl For All Time Amelia looks

I would absolutely recommend the A Girl for All Time Dolls and their accessories for gifts for this Christmas.  They are so adorable and promote wonder, curiousity and creativity while teaching children a history lesson.

BUY IT!

Amelia is available for $134.99 and can be ordered at A Girl For All Time’s online store or in stock at a handful of stores including FAO Schwartz.  Amelia’s Party Dress is available for $49.99 from the online store.

Disclosure:  I received a sample for purpose of this review however all thoughts remain my own.
