After breastfeeding all three of my babies, I am well aware of both the benefits and difficulties of breastfeeding. From those special bonding moments between mom and baby to the painful blocked milk duct, I’ve experienced it all. A common struggle has always been how exactly to nurse in public or when guests are in my home. Sometimes it is convenient to simply go into another room for privacy or bring a bottle of expressed milk but often it is not. It isn’t fair to feel as though you have to hide what is natural or feel left out because you happen to be feeding your baby. Bebe au Lait understands this and offers a stylish solution with their nursing covers!
I received a Hooter Hiders Nursing Cover in the Nest print. This style features ruffles instead of pockets and the modern fabric is a soft gray featuring cream-colored birds on matching branches.
When picking out my style I couldn’t resist the feminine charm of these ruffles. While a pocket can certainly come in handy, I opted for these instead because I simply adore the look.
Like all of their nursing covers, a contoured neck strap makes it easy to find the perfect fit and a custom metal D-ring holds the neck strap in place. No need to keep adjusting!
These nursing covers also feature a patented RigiFlex™ Neckline for easy viewing of your baby as you nurse and ventilation both at the neckline and with 100% breathable cotton that is easy to wash. How much it covers is entirely up to you!
My five month old Wesley typically doesn’t mind being underneath the cover, although as he has grown he does like to play with the fabric as he eats. I’ve learned to tuck the fabric under my arm if I need guaranteed full coverage. And while more air does circulate at the top, Wes is less likely to let me use it in hot temperatures. If he is already hot the last thing he wants is something additional over his head.
Overall, I find my Hooter Hiders nursing cover to be a necessity more than a luxury and I can’t imagine trying to nurse in public without it.
If you are searching for other uses for your cover, it works great as a sunshade over a car seat or stroller as well!
With so many fabulous prints available, the hardest part isn’t deciding if you need one but rather which one do you choose? Gorgeous, aren’t they?
