Bubble Party in the Sink: Fun Activity for Young Children

Have you been fortunate enough to have a great ECFE class (Early Childhood Family Education)? We loved our classes. In fact that’s where I met Emilie! I attended a class starting when Nora was a newborn and we were grateful to have two of the best teachers. We were always excited to see what new activities were prepared for us to explore. One of our favorites was bubble blowing.
There’s a learning curve for some little ones with this activity since there’s a chance to end up with a mouth full of bubbles but with a little guidance the results are brilliantly fun. Since those early days of sensory exploration this has been one of Nora’s favorite games at home. She likes to call it her “bathtub bubble party in the sink” and she can be there for hours.
The concept is simple but bubbles can be so magical. I let her fill the sink with water and soap and get out all of her bath toys. We add a plastic spoon for stirring and a fun straw for blowing those beautiful bubbles.
On this day Nora set everything up and insisted that I take a video of her. Here’s what resulted.

This is such a fun activity to do on a boring day when it is raining outside. My son loved to play with bubbles, and I had him play with bubbles in the sink. He just laughed and had a blast!
good way to get those toys clean too,,,that is a cute ideal
I know my kid would have an absolute blast doing this. I remember playing with my fishing toys in the sink as a kid. I’m going to have to set something up for him. Thanks!
How fun! I think I would have just as much fun as the kiddos. Maybe using colored bubbles or something!
Oh i love this idea and it will also benefit in getting those toys clean too! LOL every kid loves bubbles so this is great!
Bubbles are so much fun. My friend’s grandkids love to play with bubbles.
What a cute idea! I think I know some kids that would love this!
Oh, my kids love bubbles, and this sure looks like fun. I always try to carry a little bubble container around in the stroller for whenever we hit a dull streak or need to wait for my husband.
No that is one way to cut down on messes. How neat is this!
Oh boy !!! We definitely have to try this !! My son loves bubbles 🙂
Great idea for those days when the kids can’t go outside.
This is such a great idea, I can’t believe I’ve not heard of this before. Gonna pass it on…
