While I do love baking for the holidays, my time seems even more limited these days. Normally I bake with my older boys but that is tougher with my 8 month old. Any recipe that can be made in less than a half an hour and tastes great is a favorite of mine. With recipes like Chex Party Mix that can now be made even faster in the microwave, there is no need to stress about whether I can fit our baking adventures in during nap time!
Last week I shared this tasty Gingerbread Chex Mix that I made with Warren. The flavors turned out to be very unique and flavorful. I especially liked the taste after it had a chance to sit for a few hours.
We always seem to have Hot Tamales in our house. It has become a favorite candy of all of ours and the reason out of all the wonderful Chex Mix recipes, we chose this one! I only had to pick up some Chex and mixed nuts to finish off the recipe.
Making Chex Mix is a great way to get your kids involved in the kitchen. The ingredients are easy to work with and your child can see fast results when using the microwave. Warren loved working with me on this and dumping all the ingredients into a bowl.
After mixing up the sauce ingredients and cooking in the microwave, we only had to let the mix cool a bit on a lined baking sheet and then store in a container. So easy!
This would be great for any holiday party or packaged in affordable gift bags to present as gifts. This is a very inexpensive way to show others you are thinking of them this holiday season. Consider it for teachers, mail carriers, neighbors and more!
Chex has created a wonderful package to help you do just that with a Chex Party Mix Kit worth over $100! It includes all the tools you need to make the recipes yourself and even supplies for gift giving. A $50 American Express gift card is also included to buy all your ingredients.
Disclosure: I received a kit as well for the purpose of this post. All thoughts remain 100% my own.
