With just five ingredients required, this smoked salmon cucumber appetizer is quite easy to prepare. You will however want to be sure to set aside enough time for assembly. I recommend working in batches—making eight at a time. Complete each step for all eight bites before moving on to the next step for a smoother process..
If you would like to make them in advance, I recommend preparing the seasoned cream cheese mixture up to a day in advance and letting it come to room temp before assembling the salmon cucumber bites.

Smoked Salmon Cucumber Bites Ingredients
To make these simple salmon and cucumber bites, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- one larger cucumber (English cucumber preferred)
- smoked salmon
- cream cheese
- everything bagel seasoning
- fresh chives or fresh dill as garnish
I do recommend purchasing two cucumbers, even if you have a larger size. Its always better to have extra than not enough! I would follow the same rule with your smoked salmon, depending upon how you plan to use it. If you are rolling your smoked salmon like I show, I recommend having extra. If you are just placing a small piece of salmon on each cucumber bite, you could get by with less.

Everything Bagel Seasoning Recipe
Don’t have everything bagel seasoning? You can make your own with the following amounts:
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon dried minced garlic
- 1/4 teaspoon dried minced onion
- 1/8 teaspoon coarse salt (or to taste)
- a small pinch of black sesame seeds for color contrast (optional)
How to Make Cucumber Salmon Bites
Slice cucumber, approximately 1/3 inch thick. Exact number will depend upon size of cucumber but you want approximately 32 slices. Pat dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture.

Beat softened cream cheese in medium bowl with mixer until creamy.

Mix in everything bagel seasoning and chopped parsley until fully combined.

Top each slice with 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture and small piece of smoked salmon.

I made small salmon strips and rolled them before placing on top. Whether this is possible for you may depend upon the salmon you purchased and the quantity.

Once you’ve rolled the small piece of salmon, place it seam side down on the cream cheese.

Short on time or low on smoked salmon? Skip rolling the salmon and instead place a small piece of salmon on the top.

Snip chives into even sized pieces, approximately 1 inch. Place two on each cucumber slice for garnish. Alternatively, you could use a small sprig of dill.

Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate. Best if served within a few hours of preparation since the cucumber will start to get a bit watery.

The result is a flavorful and light finger food for parties. My sushi loving husband and teens absolutely loved this smoked salmon appetizer! Between the four of us, the cucumber bites went fast in our house but still tasted good 24 hours later.
