Curious George’s Town App {Review & $50 Prize Pack Giveaway}
Do you have a Curious George fan at home? We do, and it’s not just my 4-year old. I grew up with this adorable monkey and I love that he’s still around for Nora to fall in love with. We watch George on our local PBS station and recently discovered him in this great children’s app Curious George’s Town.
My daughter loves this application because it’s engaging and interactive with her favorite characters walking her through each game. The man in the yellow hat narrates as your child plays.
I love that the application provides preschool learning opportunities including sorting skills, letter recognition, animal facts and more.
The application has a built-in reward chart (anyone else have a head-strong preschooler?) that parents can customize themselves. My daughter’s incentives include putting toys away, getting ready for bed (when asked the first time), and getting dressed in the morning by herself. (Although it motivated her for a few days she quickly learned that she could play the games over and over and get enough coins to buy what she wanted.)
In addition to the coins children earn in each game, parents can use a customizable reward chart to set external tasks for their children like setting the table or cleaning up their room. Parents can then reward their children with additional coins when they’ve completed their task. Curious George’s Town encourages kids to save their coins in order to buy items such as dinosaurs, circus tents, roller coasters, and farm animals.
Curious George’s Town is a fun educational app perfect for every little builder. Instructive games allow children to earn coins, learn about saving, and eventually purchase items to build a town. With the guidance of The Man With The Yellow Hat, kids can sort vegetables in the market, learn the alphabet at the library, feed the animals at the pet store, and help recycle at the town park.
My daughter likes the pet store the best. She learns fun facts about each of the animals, guesses which food they like best, and tries to identify which animal the customer wants to buy. She was very excited when the animals in the shop changed! We love this app and my preschooler has decided this is her new go-to app when she’s allowed screen-time on my phone.
