My children have really begun to watch movies recently. When they were younger, they seemed to only have attention span for shorter programs, but now at 5 yrs old and 3 yrs old my older two children are old enough to appreciate a full length movie. We were all very excited for the opportunity to view the new HOP movie. From the Creators of Despicable Me, HOP was another adorable and hilarious movie.
We received a package that included the new Hop Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray+DVD+Digital Copy+UltraViolet), two HOP storybooks, and other items to make our viewing party a lot of fun such as balloons, popcorn and other snacks. Since my daughter Danica was out of school for a spring vacation this week, we decided to have a play-date with some of our friends and have a HOP viewing party.
“He was destined to be the Easter Bunny, but all he wanted to do was rock! When Teenage E.B. (voiced by Russell Brand) leaves for Hollywood in pursuit of his dream to become a rock star drummer, he meets Fred (James Marsden), an out-of-work slacker with his own lofty goals. Together the two encounter a series of hilarious mishaps and misadventures and in the end help each other recognize the importance of family.”
The party was so much fun! We hung balloons everywhere and I made the kids popcorn and topped them with Easter Egg shaped candies to make them look like little nests. We sent all of the kids home with plastic eggs filled with candy. It made for a very fun and easy play-date for all the kids.
I have to admit, I have a mad crush on James Marsden which was certainly enough to make me more than a little interested in watching this movie. He is adorable and such a good actor. My kids favorite part on the other hand, was that E.B. made jelly beans when he pooped.
Besides the Feature Film, the HOP 2-Disc Combo Pack includes several bonus features including:
- All-New Mini-Movie
- The World of HOP
- All access with Cody Simpson
- Emotion in Motion: The Dance of Ken Duario
- Russell Brand: Kid Crack Ups
- Carlos on Carlos: The HOP Premiere According to Carlos
This movie release is just in time for the Easter holiday. I think we may bring the movie along to the in-laws on Easter for my children and nieces and nephews to watch together.
I was a little skeptical that the movie was rated PG due to some mild rude humor, but after watching it I felt that it was completely appropriate for my young children. We loved this movie and I am sure my children will have it memorized in no time!
