As a child I remember my friends having an Easy Bake Oven, but I never got to have that experience. I was so excited to give my daughter the chance to own her own Easy Bake Ultimate Ovenfrom Hasbro. Easy Bake Ovens were first marketed in 1963, and have come a long way. They are now sold with a dedicated heating element replacing the incandescent light bulbs making them a greener item.
Danica loved the independence she was able to have baking her own creations (with a little help of course). The Easy Bake mixes that come with the oven basically only require you to add water, making it very easy for my budding chef to mix herself. I felt that the oven was very safe for her to use. While you do have to be slightly cautious not to stick your hands in the oven, it is basically fool proof. There is even a holding chamber inside to let the baked goods cool before removing them so that your child doesn’t get burned by the pan. I found it very useful that the cupcakes we made cooled so quickly so we were able to frost them almost right away. This is usually the most frustrating part for Danica waiting for the baked goods to cool before frosting. We both loved how quickly the cupcakes baked (only 10 minutes). On a slight downside, it did take 20 minutes for the oven to heat before use. I can see Danica spending a lot of time together baking our own creations!
