November and December are always crazy busy for everyone. From Thanksgiving to Christmas it’s a mad dash of family events, school programs and parties, shopping and cleaning. I find myself getting lost in the chaos and wishing for a breather. I think I may have found a new tradition: Friendsgiving.
Friendsgiving is an opportunity to invite friends over, eat, drink, and catch up.
We did it potluck style which took the pressure off of me as everyone brought something to share and I didn’t have to spend all day in the kitchen preparing food.
It was wonderful to get together a great group of friends. Some I see almost weekly at my daughters dance class, but some I haven’t had time to get together with for months. I think it was a much needed breather for all of us.
For both Thanksgiving and Christmas we spend all of our time with family. While I love my family dearly, I also love my friends, so this was so nice to spend some time with friends and let them know how much they are appreciated. Truly, I could not do it without them. To make it extra special, Cascade even provided me with some wonderful gifts to share with them.
The downside of having Friendsgiving or any holiday get together is the cleaning. By having it potluck style I saved on a lot of messy food prep dishes, but I did have a dishwasher full of plates, silverware, and glasses after the party. I really prefer using real dishes vs paper or plastic when hosting events, but clean up can be a pain. However, with the help of my dishwasher and Cascade, clean-up was a snap. We didn’t even have to rinse!
Your dishwasher actually works harder for you when you skip the pre-wash! In order to get the most optimum clean and shine, remember to skip the sink and use Cascade Platinum to save time and energy on your dirty dishes.
My dishes came out clean and sparkling and clean up was so easy!
Cascade Platinum ActionPacs provide 3X more film-fighting power to clean through stuck-on food in one wash, making it the best clean you can get.
Depending on what time the Friendsgiving meal would be served – brunch or dinner – I’d either provide my home made cinnamon rolls or my home made yeast rolls.
I learned you should clean your dishwasher once a month and that the last cleaning step is to run your dishwasher while empty on its longest washer setting.
I would bring my chicken poblano pepper soup for everyone to enjoy.
I would bring sausage balls to a potluck “Friendsgiving”.
Depends on the Group but I love to make international dishes like Pad Thai, or Chicken Biryani.
All my holiday dinners have to include corn pudding, period. It looks gross, but it’s yummy!
I would love to bring a cheesy lasagna.
I would bring a crockpot full of meatballs.
I would take a big dish of banana pudding for dessert.
I would bring cheesy potatoes to a Friendsgiving meal.
Oh that sound good! I would bring a 7 layer salad!
We would bring Chili and a pie 🙂
I would bring lasagna
I would bring my chicken soup.
I always make scalloped potatoes
I would bring a seven layer dip and tortilla chips.
I bring sweet tea
I would bring a nice brie cheese with apricot jam and crackers to spread it on.
