This holiday season was unlike any other for my family. Not only did I host Christmas morning with brunch for 12 people, I was still rundown with a vicious cold.  I rarely get sick, and don’t typically host during the holidays. This year my son Warren came down with the flu the week before Christmas. By Saturday, I was feeling weak and could feel a cough coming on. Sunday I was very sick, and Monday I was so miserable I couldn’t function. By Christmas, I had started to feel better, but I definitely wasn’t 100 percent yet. But Christmas doesn’t wait and neither do house guests. My husband’s family from out of state was in town, and we did the best we could. We still had a great Christmas, even though I started losing my voice and could hardly talk.

With all those nasty germs floating around, getting my house clean for guests seemed more important than ever. I received some Scrubbing Bubbles® Multi Surface Bathroom Cleaner just before the holidays.  I loved seeing that it kills 99.9 percent of viruses and bacteria. It expands into hard-to-reach places and is formulated for cleaning soap scum, hard water stains, dirt, and more.   I’m sure our bathroom especially needed it over the holidays with extra guests and germs lurking about. With Scrubbing Bubbles, I know I have a complete clean in my bathroom.

Scrubbing Bubbles® Multi Surface Bathroom Cleaner and The Scrubbing Bubbles® “Dirty Work Index”

An online survey taken in October 2014 of 2,500 adults learned the following:

Lid Up No More:

60 percent of people flush the toilet with the seat up, allowing toilet bacteria to spray out and cover everything in a fine layer of filth.

When You Gotta Go!:

Two out of every five men who takes a shower admits to urinating in it. 20 percent of people claim to also wash dedicates in the bathtub, as well.

Soap or Nope?:

23 percent of people do not wash their hands after using the bathroom despite using the tub and sink to clean pets and dirty sporting gear, as well as flushing with the toilet seat up.

Yikes! I had no idea so many people still had these type of bathroom habits. Did you?

Behind Our Closed Bathroom Doors

Over the years we’ve had our fair share of bathroom messes. Besides the usual toothpaste in the sink and mildew in the shower, I’ve had to tackles some dirty jobs in the bathroom. My kids certainly are my biggest mess-makers like the time my toddler peed all over our bathroom floor, right before I put him in the bathtub. Lovely.

Have you ever tried those so-called washable crayons for the bathroom? My boys had a blast drawing all sorts of masterpieces that took me forever to scrub off the sides of our tub. I swore never again would I allow those kind of products into our home.

But Joe, my husband, has also left his share of messes. I’ll never forget the time my he went on a trail run after it had rained. Joe slipped in the mud and his knee hit a sharp rock. He came home and jumped in the shower to clean off the blood and mud before immediately heading to urgent care for several stitches. Obviously I didn’t expect him to clean up, but it was a big job.

Scrubbing Bubbles Multi Surface Cleaner

The last thing I need when trying to get my house guest ready is wondering how effective my cleaning is when it comes to getting rid of germs. I would have felt horrible if anyone would have gotten sick because of me, and I did everything I could to try and minimize that risk. Besides the usual wipe down of my sink and scrubbing of my tub and shower tile, I spent extra time cleaning the surfaces that people touch most like the faucets and bathroom door handle.. From getting into those tight corners on my tub where mildew loves to grow, to making my faucets sparkle with their shine, this one product can tackle all my bathroom messes. I’m thankful that products like Scrubbing Bubbles® Multi Surface Bathroom Cleaner make my job just a little easier so I can spend more time on what is important.

Did you have guests for the holidays or have sick family members, too? Any tips for how you managed?
