I was recently asked by the Simply Orange Juice Company to share my thoughts on how I like to let my great taste shine. There are so many fun areas of life in which I can put my own mark but my absolute favorite is with food and entertaining. Here are some of my favorite tips for making food stand out when hosting a get together.
Spending all day in the kitchen doesn’t necessarily net you better results. Instead, look for simple dishes that are easy to prepare but can be presented in a special way. Rather than placing fruit on a tray for example, present them as kabobs and stuck within a whole watermelon. Prepare a simple cake as individual servings baked inside mason jars. Think outside the box. Pinterest in a fabulous source for ideas such as these!
I love picking up serving dishes for a steal at discount stores such as T.J. Maxx. Mix and match colors and try for varying heights for more appeal. One of my favorite serving pieces is a four piece stackable tray for desserts such as cupcakes, fruit and veggies with dip or sandwich fixings. Any food is more appetizing when offered in a unique way.
Fresh Ingredients and Garnishes:
The bright colors of fresh ingredients can make any food more appealing. For example, rounding out trays with some fresh fruit and greens or topping dishes with fresh herbs will make your spread more tempting and pleasing to the eye. It also shows your guests you care.
And if you are looking for a great base for punches, alcoholic beverages or simple straight up out of the bottle, all-natural Simply Cranberry Cocktail it is the perfect addition to your next party. Unlike other cranberry juices, it is found in the refridgerator section of your supermarket. It is in fact the ONLY national brand currently sold in the chilled section.
My husband abolustely loves cranberry juice and typically when I buy cranberry juice it is for him. While I don’t mind cranberry juice, it isn’t my favorite and if I do choose it, I like it mixed with a sweeter juice such as apple. I was very pleasantly suprised that Simple Cranberry Cocktail didn’t have the usual pucker power that some other brands posess. I even enjoyed a glass when I normally wouldn’t have and received a heavy dose of of mocked outrage from my husband.
