The passion for books is a long running family trait coming from my mother. I grew up with a huge collection of beautiful children’s books (most of them still safely tucked away for my daughter and her cousins to enjoy when they visit Grandma’s house). Our own books shelves have favorites of all shapes and sizes piled up waiting for their turn in the bedtime routine. My daughter certainly has her favorites and like most children, she goes through phases with certain stories or characters. Lately it’s been everything princess. We started with Ariel and have slowly introduced the other characters in their sparkling gowns and crowns.
I was excited to see that Hallmark released two new Disney titles to its popular library of Recordable Storybooks this year, including “The Wish My Heart Makes for You” and “You’re a Hero! All the Ways You Save the Day.” They join other Classic Disney Recordable Storybooks like “Lightning McQueen and His Winning Team”, “Winnie the Pooh’s Plan Bee” and “What Makes a Princess”. This is the first time we’ve read one of these unique books but I’ve been eyeing them on the shelf for a while now.
I love the idea that my husband or I could record ourselves reading this book, or others from their collection, and send it along to Grandma’s house when we’re away or when daddy’s traveling for work. Grandma could record her own version of the story and send it back for a surprise when she got home! This could be something that is changed often as a surprise or something that is recorded and saved forever to keep a special voice for years to come (be sure you follow the simple directions closely to preserve the recording).
Some of our favorite Disney stories and characters can be found in our Recordable Storybook collection. Of course anything princess is a hit in our house but Pooh ranks up there among our favorites. Some of the titles are The Wish My Heart Makes for You starring Cinderella, All I Want for Christmas starring Mickey Mouse and friends, and Winnie the Pooh’s Plan Bee starring you-know-who.
The holidays are here and these classic stories are sure to be a hit with your family. Snuggle up with some cocoa and read a recordable storybook together, like the popular The Night Before Christmas and The Very First Christmas.
