Halloween Monster Brownies: Make it Simple!

Late last week I joked about eating a brownie for breakfast. With coffee cake and muffins passing for breakfast, surely there is someway to justify eating a brownie. Right?  Of course, my friends did not disappoint with answers on Facebook.

Obviously eggs+flour+dairy = breakfast.

Tricia from The Night Owl Mama mentioned I should make brownie monsters. And I thought, hey, why not? I happened to have this awesome decorating kit from Wilton that I picked up from Target for $4.99 earlier in the month.

Wilton Halloween Decorating Candy Kit TargetI love kits like this that make it easy to decorate by offering ideas and a variety of supplies in one easy purchase. I also still had some zombie hands let over from my Zombie Hand Parfaits and blood shot eyes from my Buried Witch Cookie Balls post with Jo-Ann Fabrics.
Halloween Brown Monsters EASY Kid FriendlyThese brownies were decorated in very little time! A little bit of  green icing kept the pieces in place and the soft brownie made it easy to insert pieces of candy. (I had wanted to include additional pictures but unfortunately my camera’s battery chose that moment to die. Lovely.)

This would be a great project with kids. Remember, even if you baking or decorating isn’t your thing, it really isn’t necessary. Anyone can make a pan of brownies and add some adorable decorations on for fun. And if you don’t have a kit handy, just pick up some fun candy to decorate your brownies.

Kids love it and making monsters is always a fun way to spend an afternoon or evening with them.

Happy decorating!
