I remember watching the “You’re Doing OK, Mom” video from JOHNSON’S® Baby for the first time almost two years ago. Wesley had just turned three months, and I bawled watching the images of moms and their babies doing everyday activities. It prompted me to think of how the little moments of each day mean so much. A simple, one minute video reminded me of all the love I have for my kids and the powerful emotion that comes with motherhood.
Every time I saw the video after that, it never failed to evoke emotion. But, this morning it had me crying again. I watched the video with Wesley who is now 26 months old. He smiled, talked about the bubbles and was sure to say “Awwww” several times throughout the video. That is what he always says when he sees something is cute. The “You’re Doing OK, Mom” video got me all again in a different way. It reminded me how fast our babies grow and how my relationship with my son has changed. Wesley kept saying and signing, “more”, so we watched it at least three more times.
If you haven’t seen the video, or even if you have, I encourage you to watch it. JOHNSON’S® Baby knows that every mom could use some reassurance and a reminder that she’s doing OK, especially on Mother’s Day. That is why they are asking you to join them in reassuring moms everywhere that they’re doing OK.
For every view of the “You’re Doing OK, Mom” video between now and Mother’s Day, JOHNSON’S® Baby will donate $1 to Save the Children®, up to $50,000! What a great incentive to check it out and give back.
I hope you all have a wonderful Mother’s Day tomorrow, spending time with your family. And even if things are tough right now, please know that you are doing OK, Mom!
