I have to admit, I have not worn a watch for a few years. Probably not since I quit working to be a stay at home mom. Most of my days have been spent staying at home with my kids and time was not really an issue. Now that my kids are getting older and in school, they are involved in more activities and I find myself on more of a schedule where time is actually an issue. I was pleased to receive a new Timex® watch from their new 2013 Spring Collection to help me stay on time.
There were so many beautiful watches to choose from, many with vibrant colors with stripes, electric neons, sporty style, black and white, but I am more of a classic kind of girl so I chose the Timex® Women’s Multi-function (T2P065) with the gold-tone bracelet (SRP $84.95).
Gold-tone or two-tone case
Silver/white textured dial
Gold-tone or two-tone stainless steel bracelet
Multi-function movement showing day, date and 24 hour time
50 m W/R
Case size: 35mm
I love the day and date features as I often forget what day it is, and never know the date anymore. I have to mark the days on a calendar or I completely lose track some days. (sad isn’t it?) I was immediately terrified that I wouldn’t be able to set it with all the features, but it was really quite easy.
The fact that it is water-resistant to 50 meters is extremely valuable to me as with kids you never know what my hands will end up in and hand washing is OFTEN around here.
The gold numbers on the white dial are extremely easy to see and I really like that. The hour and minute hands also glow in the dark which is a great feature.
There were two things I did not love about this watch. First it is quite large. When picking it out I did not pay much attention to the case size in the specifications and at 35mm it is big. My husband said he thinks it looks like a men’s watch. I am sure part of the reason it is large is to accommodate the day, date, and 24 hr time features.
The second thing that was annoying, but would not deter me from buying , is the adjustment of the band. The instructions that came with it did not include the correct instructions for the band I received but I was able to find instructions online. You have to insert a sharp object into the holes on the underside of the band and push outward in the direction of the arrows. It was EXTREMELY hard to push them out. I am sure this is a good thing as it will not easily come apart, but it was very difficult to do. Luckily I should not have to ever readjust it. What I do love about the band though is how easy the clasp is. You simply squeeze together the sides. Very easy to do.
The New Timex Spring Collection offers a wide variety of Men’s and Women’s watches classified as either the IQ collection which stands for Intelligent Quartz, Classic or Original. All for $225 and under. They would be the perfect gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or Graduations.
The Timex® Women’s Multi-function is available at a variety of retailers in store, including Kohl’s!
Disclosure: I received a sample for the purpose of this review however all thoughts are 100% my own.
