Patek Philippe has never forgotten the ladies in their complicated watch lines; years ago they released repeaters for the ladies offering gentle and rare musical sound. More recently women have requested complex mechanical watches and have enjoyed the annual calendar, second time zone and moon phase displays. The first Grand Complication in the ultra-thin Ladies First Split-Second Monopusher Chronograph marks the 21st century for Womens Watches.
The first chronograph was release by the brand in 2009 with the Ladies First Chronograph model, it featured new chrono caliber even before the men’s version was released. The newest release is ranked in the Grand Complications due to its mechanical complexity with the development of the split-seconds chronograph with column-wheel control. It is the thinnest column wheel split seconds chronograph in the world with dimensions of 27.3mm in diameter and 5.25mm in height. This timepiece can fit in a case made for the female wrist in an elegant rose gold with 226 diamonds to delight the senses.
The modern woman is self-confident; she sits at the head of corporations and drives the most luxurious of automobiles. Women of today are technologically savvy and as such a mechanical watch is of great appeal. The Ladies First Split-Seconds Chronograph contains mechanical movement that holds the world record in miniaturization. These patented innovations make it one of the most advanced chronograph movements in traditional design. One can be assured of reliability and accuracy despite the small dimensions.
Patek Philippe has a silky feeling due to the mechanical workings and responsiveness of the crown. This feeling makes the timepiece even more appealing to todays woman; it has a sensuality about it. Inside and out this watch is all femininity, the 33.2mm case is done in an Officer’s style with straight lugs and classic-traditional screwed strap bars. The glow of 18 carat rose gold and the contrast of the flawless Wesselton diamonds in the bezel are gorgeous framing a matte opalescent powder rose imprinted dial. Breguet numerals are applied and the hands are crafted from 18 carat rose gold. The 60-minute counter scales at 3 o’clock, subsidiary seconds at 9 o’clock and minutes are transfer-printed in a hue of rose gold. The crown is fluted and the pusher is at 2 o’clock to start, stop and reset the split seconds hand. It is water-resistant to 30 meters or 3 bar.
The exhibition back is set with 76 diamonds showcasing the column wheels, decorated bridges and the Geneva striping of the Caliber CHR 27-525 PS. There are 252 parts and a power reserve of 48 hours. The strap is made from alligator leather, hand-stitched and has a prong buckle in 18 carat rose gold with 26 diamonds. Each piece is crafted individually by master watchmakers, and as such only a few of these women’s watches are made each year.
