Summer has finally arrived here in Northern Minnesota. Let the days of going to the beach, park, playground, zoo, etc begin. The past two weeks I spent bringing my kids to swimming lessons. Luckily I received the perfect pair of canvas slip on shoes for summer from Blu Kicks.
I love my new Bali Pink canvas slip on shoes. I must say, I would NEVER ordinarily pick shoes this bright, but after such a long cold dreary winter I was ready for a little color in my life and these shoes seemed like the answer. I must say, I smile every time I look at them. For real.
At first I was slightly hesitant about canvas shoes for $58. Could they really live up to the price tag? And then I put them on and I was completely sold. The removable insoles offer great arch support. They are SO comfortable. I have been wearing them every day for the past 2 weeks. I can not get over how comfortable they are. I also love that they are machine washable. I have not tried this yet, but I am sure it will happen as it is virtually impossible to keep anything clean living in the country with 4 kids.
- Comfortable, breathable and machine washable
- Cotton canvas with natural rubber sole
- Removable insoles with true arch support
- Dollar per kick donated to threatened habitats
As I was running my kids back and forth to swimming lessons this week I realized another huge benefit of these shoes is the non-slip rubber soles. I literally threw a pair of shoes away last summer because it rained outside and I slipped on our wet porch steps and fell down the stairs. That definitely would not be a problem with the Blu Kicks rubber soles. Not only are they highly functional, but cute too with fish on the soles of the shoes!
Blu Kicks were started by a Mother and Son who were inspired by the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a (Hawaii’s State Fish) which has been overfished and abused. They wanted to make a difference so they designed these canvas shoes with adorable fish faces on the back. For each pair of shoes purchased, they give back $1.00 from each shoe sold to protect their habitats. They currently donate to three charities: Bonefish and Tarpon Trust, WildAid and For the Fishes.
We think you’ll wear our shoes because you like how they look and you’ll certainly enjoy the comfort and quality we’ve built into each pair. But there’s something more in each shoe—a little bit of the islands’ breezy, laid-back personality that we hope inspires you to slow down and relax, even if it’s only for a slow bike ride around the neighborhood, an hour on the water, or sipping a cold one on the porch. If you can do some good at the same time, why not? Take it slow.
This is definitely something I need to work on lately, slowing down and enjoying life.
Blu Kicks offers 14 colors of women’s canvas slip on shoes and 8 men’s styles. The Bengal Tango, Permit Gold, and Farallon Gray are 3 of my favorite women’s styles.
One lucky reader will win a pair of Blu Kicks Canvas shoes in the color of their choice.
