Handmade jewelry has a special place in my heart for many reasons. I worked in a bead shop when I was in college and love supporting small town artists in general. This year it’s meant more to me though. After I lost my triplets I received many special pieces of jewelry to help me keep those sweet names close to my heart. When I was given the opportunity for another beautiful necklace I knew it wasn’t meant for me this time. Something About Silver, handmade jewelry & gifts, helped me create a beautiful necklace for my friend Jodi.
The beauty of handmade jewelry is the ability to have the piece customized to exactly what you want. I asked that they include three names on this piece along with two birthstones, a sweet little heart, and a stamp hiding behind the charms with angel wings. The necklace came beautifully packaged and ready to gift to my friend. Time was taken to space letters evenly and precisely. It was important to me that this necklace was perfect because it was going to a special mommy.
Jodi and her husband Jesse were expecting twins in 2012 and as unexpectedly as they discovered that there were two babies, they found out that they were suffering from TTTS (twin to twin transfusion syndrome). Sadly the procedure to correct the condition wasn’t successful. Little William went to the arms of Jesus at 20 weeks gestation. We’re so thankful that although Isaac was delivered early he is a handsome, healthy, baby boy. Jodi’s sister-in-law, Aimee of Red Letter Ink designed this stunning birth announcement to celebrate the birth of these brothers.
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to give something beautiful and handmade to this fellow mommy of an angel and Something About Silver did a beautiful job. I know how much I cherish my memorial jewelry and hope that she likes what I requested for her. Big sister Jolynn’s name shares the disc with Isaac’s name and I asked that William’s name be on the disc with the angel wings.
If you know a loss mommy, please consider having something like this made for them. They have a large selection of beautiful jewelry for anyone in your life who needs a reminder of your love for them from necklaces to rings and more.
From our new, limited edition collection ‘Pieces of my Heart’
These beautiful pieces have been sculpted by hand and cast in fine pewter (lead free). Absolutely adorable; pewter has the same look and feel as sterling silver but will not tarnish quickly like sterling silver. For someone that loves our jewelry but can not wear sterling silver, this collection is the perfect choice.
From our ever popular sterling silver collection
These stacking rings are a customer favorite! Charming, handcrafted sterling silver rings that have been ever so lightly textured to give them a slight rust, artisan feel.
Prices vary depending upon style, charms and how you’d like your piece personalized but necklaces start at only $24. Be sure to like Something about Silver on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to stay on top of product news and specials!
I have a $40 gift card to Something About Silver for one lucky reader! Open to residents of the U.S. and Canada.
