Last week when I returned home from vacation, I had a package waiting for me. Inside were two cans of Hot Shot® Insecticides, one for wasps and hornets and another for ants. I was happy to have some on hand since we always seem to get unwanted pests during the summer. My husband Joe has had to use these products before many times. And strange as it sounds, I was hoping for some sort of pest to eliminate so I could share how we got rid of them with you.
But I had nothing. Joe destroyed a wasp nest about a month ago, but since then, we hadn’t seen another nest. And our ant problem is currently non-existent this year. but has been horrible in the past.
Two days ago, I was chatting with my husband outside right after he got home from work. Sure enough, we both noticed a few wasps. My husband spotted a small nest, right in the crack of our front door awning. It was a horrible spot. Not only would be it be easy to for them to get into the house, it would be hard to avoid them. And since the last nest that burrowed in our house two years ago allowed many wasps to get into our home, I wanted to get rid of this right away. Our seven year old now has a fear of them. Even though I am calm around them, he still freaks out when he sees them so I wanted to make sure he never knew it was even there.
Having some Hot Shot® Insecticides specifically for wasps and hornets on hand was very convenient! I was able to run into my house and get the can. Within minutes my husband had sprayed the nest and killed one of the wasps. There is some peace of mind in having such a strong and far reaching jet spray, up to 27 feet!
We noticed a few more return to the nest and subsequently die. I really love that any of them returning to the nest are killed as well. And now today, the nest is empty. I haven’t seen any more wasps around, but I know if I do, we’ll be ready for them with Hot Shot® Wasp and Hornet Killer. We aren’t about to let bugs feel at home at our house!
