I would never say that cleaning is fun. I wish I was one of those people who actually enjoyed cleaning so my house was always sparkling clean. Because I really love that feeling. That feeling you get when you walk into a room that has just been cleaned.
The smell. The shine. With everything in its place.
This is never more true than when I walk into a bathroom! My house just never feels clean if the kitchen or bathroom is messy or dirty. And because those are the places where the most bacteria live I try to give them more attention than other areas of my house.
Scotch-Brite asked me to try out some of their bathroom products and ask my readers for their own tips for tackling cleaning challenges.
Scotch-Brite bathroom cleaning tools have been designed for a modern look but still offer superior performance. Those are my kind of tools!
I’ve been using these products to tackle the tough job that is my older bathroom. Because this bathroom has been around for a while, I often feel like I can’t get into the grout and tight spaces as much as I’d like. A perfect new tool at my disposal now is the Grout & Detail Tool ($4.99).
This tool is perfect for that dirt and grim build up. It does have stiff bristles so you can really get a good scrub in and the flexible cleaning tip makes it easier for those hard to reach places. And like most of the tools in this line, it has an ergonomic handle. I like using it for so many other areas than just grout, including where my faucet and vanity meet.
The Comfort Grip Sponge ($3.99) is a handy tool for scrubbing my bathtub. I mean really scrubbing. The white bristles are soft while the blue bristles are good for stubborn spots. The design makes it really easy to grip.
While I typically wouldn’t enjoy talking about cleaning my toilet, the Toilet Bowl Brush & Holder ($6.49) really is a fabulous addition to my bathroom. I’m able to really get under the bowl rim and the handle is very ergonomic as well. It also looks great in its holder rather than an eyesore. I haven’t had a chance to try the Portable Plunger & Holder ($8.99) as thankfully we haven’t had any issues with clogs lately. Unfortunately I did notice that the reviews on this product are not glowing. Others have struggled with keeping the water inside the toilet as they plunge so please keep that in mind when using this product.
I also really liked having the Twin Blade Squeegee & Holder ($5.99). It is perfect for getting rid of water that has collected in one swoop. I’ve actually never owned one of these before and will use it on everything from windows to mirrors to my shower walls. As an added bonus, it comes with a holder that can be attached to the wall for easy access.
For a little more fun, I’ve got a challenge for YOU. In the spirit of the bathroom cleaning tools from Scotch-Brite, I want to know…
How do you tackle your bathroom?
I’m searching for tips on how tackle the bathroom. Any great advice for making it easier to get your bathroom sparkling clean? Does cleaning it more frequently help you to keep it extra clean? For example, I like to always start by sweeping. It never fails that while cleaning my bathroom, water will somehow end up on the floor. And as we all know, brooms and water don’t really mix. Nothing like having wet dust and hair stuck to your bristles.
