Soy Delites is a joint venture created by Christy and Garland, a husband and wife team who discovered how superior soy candles were compared to paraffin and decided to start a business together. After learning more on their site about the benefits of soy, I’d have to agree!
If soy wax replaced paraffin wax an estimated 60 million pounds of soybeans would be needed for annual candle production. On the other hand, paraffin candles are a byproduct of oil refining thereby relying on foreign crude oil markets for manufacture. However, soy wax is a sustainable and renewable resource, thereby helping our environment.
Soy candles do not emit the soot that are characteristic of paraffin candles.
To date, the EPA (or any other organization) has not conclusively studied the long term health issues that may arise from burning paraffin wax candles compared to burning soy candles. However, the EPA did find organic chemicals and known carcinogens, such as formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, and acrolein in paraffin wax
Soy Delites clean burning soy candles are in signature glasses are textured to create a prism-like light effect on the walls and ceiling while the candle is burning. I used to burn candles all the time before having kids. I’d burn them for a romantic evening with my husband, for a night time get together with friends or simply to create a nice ambiance when reading a book. Since I rarely seemed to have time for these things anymore and was concerned about safety, I eventually stopped altogether once my first child was born.
When I was sent a few Soy Delites candles for review, it was just the reminder I needed to get into the habit of burning candles again after the kids go to bed. I hadn’t tried soy candles before and let me tell you, these aren’t the candles I remember. The burn is so smooth and even that I’m not getting any of the eventual deep crevices and subsequent smoke from the flame hitting the edge. I was forced to either burn them a very long time to make them even or just throw them out once they got to this point. The wick also doesn’t leave little black specks all over my candle. I’m also like the light scents which are not so overwhelming. I especial love the Pomegranate but I’m a fruity scent kind of gal so it was perfect for me! Overall I’m was very surprised how much I liked these candles and would certainly recommend them and even buy them in the future.
