While my wardrobe has changed dramatically over the past several years as I transitioned from business casual to stay at home mom, I have found one of the staples has been a couple of good cardigans. I love the versatility of a cardigan, you can dress it up with a nice scarf or jewelry, or throw it on with a t-shirt and jeans. Either way, it is a comfortable, practical and I believe essential item.
With that said, I was extremely excited to try the new Lands’ End Supima Fine Gauge Cardigan. As a long time fan of Lands’ End clothing, I knew it would be a quality piece of clothing. The Supima Fine Gauge Cardigan is offered in 14 different colors. I debated picking a brighter springy color such as Salt Washed Pink or Glacier Blue, but decided on Mushroom as it is a more neutral color that could work with more of my wardrobe.
The Supima Fine Gauge Cardigans are made with 76% Supima cotton/20% nylon/4% Lycra® spandex for the Regular and Petite sizes and 85% Supima cotton/13% nylon/2% Lycra spandex for the Plus Sizes. Supima cotton is the top 3% of American Cotton. I thought it was super soft and comfortable. The fabric has the perfect amount of stretchiness allowing it to hold it’s shape well, but also moving easily with me .
I loved the fit of this cardigan. I ordered a size XL and was very pleased with the fit. Often shirts with buttons pull awkwardly across the chest area when buttoned, but this one fit perfectly. The mid hip length was a nice length on my torso, easily covering my mid section without riding up.
The sleeves have a very nice long cuff that I believe would look nice folded over or left straight. They stretch nicely when pulled up which I liked as I have a tendency to pull up my sleeves.
