For my children’s spring break this year we decided to go to a hotel nearby with an indoor waterpark. I really wasn’t sure how they would like it. I actually expected them to be afraid of the water slides and dumping water. Thankfully I was wrong. My two older children LOVED it. They both went down the huge slide with their Dad a few times and floated in the lazy river and they must have gone down the smaller slide about 100 times each. When I was recently sent the new Pinypon Aqua Park Adventures Playset (MSRP $24.99) I knew my kids would love it. It allows them to relive their spring break adventures at home while using their imaginations.
When those April showers strike outside, take a trip to a waterpark inside and make a splash without really getting wet! This set comes with the rare curly haired Pinypon that changes color in the water! The waterpark features hours of activity including a working water slide, a Jacuzzi that makes bubbles and even a lazy river with wave maker plus inner tubes. When ready to get out of the water, take your favorite PinyPon to the poolside bar for a snack. What a delicious way to spend the day.
You may recall I previously reviewed the Pinypon Weekend Getaway Hotel and the Pinypon Snow Ski Lodge and Car and Tow. My children LOVE them all. The Aqua Park Adventures is another huge hit in our house. All 4 of my children love this new set. Our baby Delaney is still too little to play with most of the small parts, but she loves to hold and look at the figures. Danica, Kurtis and Keegan were all very excited about the new Aqua Park Adventures set. We actually took it out on our deck one day to try out all of the fun water features.
Keegan Loves filling the bucket at the top of the slide with water and dumping it as his figure slides down the slide. He does it OVER AND OVER! Danica loves all of the fun accessories (40 +) that come with this set. It comes cups, utensils, a plate and some really tiny curly straws just to name a few. The girl is actually able to hold them as they all have a small tab on them that sticks into a hole on her hand. There are hearts, stars, flowers that you can stick on her head, or attach to her purse. She also has a chair and table so she can lounge by the pool and soak up the sun!
The set is very well thought out with the jacuzzi tub which the kids love to push the button and make bubbles. The lazy river with inner tubes is perfect as the figures fit right in it and turn around the bar as you turn the umbrella. I also like the cute little changing room located under the stairs of the water park.
Danica was very excited to try out the color change swimsuit. Her suit is light pink with blue designs on it at room temperature. The directions say that it needs to be 10 degrees celsius or below to change. I ran some cool water in a dish and we brought it outside to play (it was only about 40 degrees F the day we were playing). We could not get it to change at first. I finally grabbed a handful of snow and stuck the girl in it and then her suit finally changed purple. I wouldn’t consider that a huge selling feature as most kids are not going to want to play with freezing cold water.
Part of the appeal of the Pinypon dolls is the ability to mix and match them. The dolls all come apart (hair, head, upper torso, legs, skirts). All of the heads are 2 sided allowing you to change the dolls facial expressions. I will say I was extremely disappointed as this set only came with one figure. It is kinda hard to mix and match when they only give you one. They did include 2 skirts. My children love this playset, but I think it would have been much less appealing if they did not already have other figures to go with it. (You can buy sets of figures separately.) The box is extremely misleading. It says that it “Includes Pinypon Friend with color-change swimsuit”. I personally would not read that as that was the only figure included. Also the box shows 5 different figures on the front, so if I were buying based on the box, I would assume there were more figures inside. On the bottom of the box it does read “Colours, design and content of the product may differ what is seen on the packaging.”
