It’s back to school time. Is your family adjusting to the new routine? We’re just getting into the groove of three day a week preschool. She has the same teacher/classroom and even some of the same classmates as last year when she went two days a week. I know my girl is ready to get back to learning and all of the social fun that she doesn’t get as often at home. Do you think her teacher is ready for her again?

I didn’t get the chance to do a teacher appreciate gift last year although I saw so many cute ideas on Pinterest. Feeling inspired and crafty (it’s been a while since I’ve done a craft tutorial!) I helped my daughter put together a fun little gift for her teachers. We picked up a tall cup (this one is covered with a straw which is convenient when working in a busy classroom with little ones), some snacks, hand lotion, hand sanitizer, a big craft clip, and tissue. Feel free to customize your cup to whatever gifts you think your child’s teacher would like. It’s nice to have the cup with you to see what will fit.

Nora loves crafting and stickers so she set to work making a card for each teacher. I wrote a little poem to tie into the treats in the cup and resisted typing it out perfectly on the computer. This gift is for a preschool teacher so why not use a real pencil! I added a few apples to the card and cut a slice in the top of each card with a blade. I slid the cards onto a piece of ribbon and fastened around the straw.

Some days she’s sweet
or kinda nutty
she might even make you snicker!

We like kind words
and helping our friends
she loves getting
smiles and stickers.

Thank you so much
for teaching our girl
please tell us
if you have concerns.

Preschool can be
an exciting time
we can’t wait
to see all she learns!

Did you help your child make a teacher appreciation gift this year? If not it’s never too late. Imagine how lovely it would be to get a gift after that first stressful week. Of course there are plenty of holidays to consider along with the end of the year thanks for those hard working teachers. Remember you can fill your cup with just about anything. Add a personal touch from you and your child and have fun crafting with your child!

  1. Too cute, we usually buy a plant, lol. They are selling those cups at the dollar store now, so if you pick it up there you could add a couple of ballons too for next to nothing!

  2. Cute idea! I bet teachers really appreciate all those everyday essentials! The cup looks nice and sturdy, too. I will have to check my Dollar Store.

  3. This is amazing! I wish I would have done this in the beginning of the year, I still might, what a great idea. I love the poem too, too cute!!

  4. My sister is a teacher and she loves gifts like this. Only thought, my sister says she just wishes the snacks were a little healthier. Just a thought!
