*This post was brought to you in partnership with Walgreens & Mom Spark Media. Thoughts are my own.*
When I asked my mom what she would like for Christmas, she immediately told me she’d love pictures of my family. She had seen the digital images from our fall family photo session and wanted some to display in her home. We had so many pictures taken, it is hard to give her all the prints. A great way to give a wide assortment of pictures is with a photo book. It is also keepsake to enjoy forever, and one that I know will make her happy. I wrote a post about a photo book being the best gift I had ever given her and yet, I feel guilty that I haven’t done it since. So I put aside some time one morning to put together a simple but beautiful photo book on Walgreens.com. They have same day pickup on their photo books, and I happen to have a Walgreens just a block away. It doesn’t get quicker than that!l
Working with the Walgreens online photo center was fairly simple and intuitive. In no time, I was uploading additional pictures to my albums and playing around with different themes to get just the look I wanted. There are numerous background options, and it is easy to switch them out with just a drag and drop. The system is loaded with features including editing the photo after placing it on the page and a pan feature so you can get it just right. I chose to keep my pages simple and use a single picture on most of the pages, but multi-photo layouts are available.
Within an hour, Walgreens emailed to let me know my photo book was finished. I was shocked at the speed of this service and pleasantly surprised when an associate called to remind me that they need a print release for any photos taken by professional photographers. Since I was already there last month for my photo tag project, I had one on file. But it was great customer service to receive that call.
I love the way the colors pop off the page and that the book represents my family. What a personal gift this is, especially for grandparents who love thoughtful presents featuring their grandchildren.
I think my favorite part of the photo book was being able to include our outtakes from the photo shoot. We struggled with our 1 1/2 year old through a majority of the session. We had plenty of silly photos that might not make it on the mantle, but are so much fun to look at anyway. This was my chance to showcase them.
And now my mom will get her Christmas wish. A lovely photo book of her daughter and her family along with some extra photo prints I had made with it. I know it will make her smile to look through it, and isn’t that what the holidays are all about?
Be sure to keep Walgreens in mind this holiday season for your own photo gifts and those last minute presents. Remember they offer same day pickup on photo books, photo cards, calendars, canvas prints and more at over 7,500 locations! They also have other gift options that can be shipped directly and plenty of fabulous sales to help you stretch your dollar.
