Walmart Helps You Fill Your Child’s Holiday Wish List {Giveaway} #WalmartWishes CLOSED

The Christmas season is coming quickly and my kids are planning their wish lists.  Thankfully Walmart is ready for the challenge of meeting all of our toy needs this holiday season.  We took a trip to Walmart this week so all three of my kids could pick out items to put on their lists and since they can’t write yet, we created a photo wish list to share.

Kurtis was so excited by all of the Lego items available at Walmart.  His favorites are the items from the Lego City line such as the construction vehicles.

One of Kurt’s favorite things is vehicles with people to go with them, so he was so excited to see the Adventure Wheels items available at Walmart.

The movie Cars is one of Kurt’s favorites, so he was excited about all of the Cars items he found for his wish list.

Keegan has a couple of Mega Bloks toys at home, so he was immediately drawn to the Mega Bloks items he spotted.  His favorite was a John Deere Mega Bloks Lil Tractor.

Another of Keegan’s wish items was an adorable Strong Arm Tonka Bulldozer which is perfect for his little hands.  This definitely makes his wish list!

On the top of Keegan’s list were the Thomas the Train toys, or as he calls them Choo Choos!  He went crazy when he saw all of them and I am sure he will be happy to receive some this Christmas.  (A boy can never have enough trains right?)

Danica was immediately drawn to the extensive selection of Barbie’s at Walmart.  I think she would love almost any of them, but her favorites were the Princess and the Popstar items and the I Can Be… items.

Legos are also on Danica’s wish list and her favorites were the Friends’ series which is directed more towards girls.  One of her friends received this for a birthday recently and she has had her eye on it ever since!

Another great shopping tool at Walmart is their layaway program:

All toys priced $15 or more are available through Walmart’s layaway program. If a customer puts a toy on layaway and Walmart rolls back the price later in the season, Walmart will honor the rolled-back price if it is in effect at the time of final payment.  Walmart will match competitor pricing during checkout for layaway products through its ad match policy. Customers will be able to pick up their toys once they complete their layaway payments. Once completed, customers will receive a full refund of the $5 layaway open fee on a Walmart gift card. 

Finally, Walmart has kicked of Toyland Tuesday.  Every Tuesday now through Christmas, Walmart will offer new rollback prices and new toy items.

    The kids make lists by writing down what they want if they are too little to write then they then they either circle what they want on toy sales fliers or cut pictures out to make a list

    My grandson is 5 and he just made his list himself 2 nights ago. He sounded out how he thought it sounds and wrote the list. He read it back just fine. The other grandchildren are in a different state so they just call and say what they want

    My 2 boys do wish lists on Amazon and my little girl says she wants everything she sees on tv and in the toy catalogs…she is little and doesn’t understand but she likes having a list.

    I pay attention throughout the year & write down as much as I can remember. I try to buy things throughout the year as well so I’m not Christmas shopping last minute! 🙂

    My kids make a wish list if I ask them to or they will circle things in catalogs/toy books and then I have to make a list from that lol. Other than that, no we don’t have any kind of family wish list.

    we take a trip to the store and let the boys go through the toys and tell us what they want and we make a list as we go. their top 3 choices go on their santa list and the rest is sent to grandparents, aunts/uncles

    My sister is the only one with little ones anymore. She gives us ideas what the kids want or need. The grown-ups draw names with a limit on how much to spend.

    This year I made an online wish list with links to what we wanted. It’s so much easier to shop online and gift buyers can see the item instead of guessing what you’re talking about.

    We do one gift for women, one for men, and give a gift to each child. We can’t afford giving a gift to everyone so, that’s why we play “Dirty Santa” 🙂

    I make a separate wish list for each person on Amazon.com where everyone can access it. Then when family want to know what to get, they find the item and then look around at all the stores for the best deal.

    We don’t make lists. Nobody really wants to ask for anything because they would feel bad about having money spent on them that could go towards more important things that we need. We are pretty close so we usually know what each other needs, so those are the gifts we buy.

    There are no surprises at Christmas. We email each other exactly what we want and we get it. Usually through Amazon.

    My girls usually make a list of the things they would like, but they also tell us the ones that they want to most. We try to get one special item and then a couple of smaller things to surprise them.

    I keep a running list all year with ideas for people. My daughter is great at telling me what she wants. Everyone else on my list is SO hard to buy for; they’ll never give me any clue!

    I give my girls, ages 3 and 5, a toy catalog and let them circle what they like. This helps give me an idea of what they really want. I also have them limit it to 5 items.

    Its just my hubby and I… so we go shopping together, split up at the store/mall and then text each other pictures of what we each want with a message including the store its at and the price. 🙂

    I wouldn’t say we really make “official” lists per se… usually i tell my hubby what i want and vice versa and we pass that onto family… our little girl isn’t quite two yet, but maybe when she gets older we’ll start having “real” lists lol.

    I make a master list with my son. Then we give each family member that will be purchasing him a gift a few ideas from the list that are within their price range. They all let me know what they get for my son so that I do not purchase the same things. So far we have not had any problems with this way.

    When my kids were little, they would always make their lists for us on Thanksgiving – that way Santa, Mom Dad & Grandparents could ALL see it!     We go to the store and split up as a family. I take my daughter around and my husband takes the boys. They spend time looking at the shelves and then we take pictures of the items they like with the cell phone. It is such a great idea because then they see things that are not advertised that they want. My son really wanted a new helmet and a horn for his bike…we also text picture of items to family members who want ideas of what to get them. We also do this for birthdays.

    Well, my three kids are never shy about sharing their wish lists! Now that they are older, they print off a list on the computer and hand it to us! lol! I am a little more subtle, I drop little hints, every now and then. My husband, never asks for anything, bless his heart. So he usually ends up being surprised when he opens his presents.

    I don’t make a list anymore now that the kids are all grown up. They usually call me to let me know what it is they want for Christmas and we order it online and have the item shipped to their homes. Easy peasy and we happily avoid the holiday hustle and bustle this way 🙂

    In my family we make wish lists craft time! All of the kids get a piece of paper, scissors, glue, and all the toy catalogs. They write their name on the top and then just cut and glue what they want. This way we have a nice, detailed picture of what they want and it’s on a nice portable piece of paper.

    we dont have a specific list sharing method, but all the grandkids do a secret santa, and all the adults play Zursi (like whte elephant)… but the parents and grandparents usually ask for lists from the kids

    Around September my mother asks what my kids and their kids want for Christmas. They always say they don’t know. By October or November my mother tells my sister to ask me (via email). Since I still haven’t gotten an answer, I end up giving my ideas to my mom (via email through my sister) and I get stuck scrambling the last minute for presents.

    We don’t have any little ones for the holidays these days. When my son was little he would make out his letter to Santa and put it on the front porch with cookies for Mrs Claus. In the morning the letter would be gone and there would be glitter left along with a peppermint candy.

    when we were kids we would put our wish lists in blank envelopes and then “accidentally” leave them in places like our parents bathroom dressers. good times.

    we have a lower income family so we write a list of a few things for each person and then secret santa each other. The other half of my family sens the same 20.00 bill to eachother except when we get the card and check we sign the card and then pass it on until it gets back to the person who wrote it and then they keep it we all live in different parts of the country and that is the only things that does not cost an arm and leg to ship

    We never did wish lists I taught my children that gifts were meant to be personal, the giver was meant to think long and hard about what would be important to the receiver and as a gift recipient we should always be thankful and appreciative that others think of us and do something kind and generous for us!

    I don’t make a wish list, though I think my mom wishes I still did – she always gets frustrated when it comes to gift buying! When we were little, we used to write a list and put stars by the “most wanted” items. I always felt a little greedy doing that, but now I realize it was more for my parents’ sake than mine!

    Sometimes we ask each other what they want, and sometimes we go to the store together and let the person pick out what they want. But most times we just buy whatever and make it a surprise…it’s nice to get exactly what you want, but I don’t really think that’s the meaning of Christmas.

    This year my 3 year old son, who in non verbal, has been asking for a cuddleuppet. Everytime he sees the commercial he pulls me to the tv and points to the screen.
