Wordless Wednesday – Goodbye Summer

Living on the shores of Lake Superior, I had only recently learned that September is actually the month where the lake is the warmest. A couple of weeks ago we tested that theory with a trip down to Park Point. We soaked in some rays, got wet and sandy and enjoyed the small crowd mid week. It definitely seemed warmer but not “warm” by any stretch.
I couldn’t help but realize that before long we will be stuck in the house with frigid temperatures and snow storms. All we can do is enjoy the moments while we can.

beautiful!
How nice that your “summer” stretches into September 🙂
Warm or not, I am jealous that you are able to get to the water so easily. It looks wonderful!
I didn’t realize Superior ever got warm! Man, you guys must get so cold in the winter!
Well, I would say warm is a relative term. More like not too cold to dip your feet into versus freezing. 🙂
Yes! Enjoy it as long as it lasts! Of course it seems to last forever where I live… 😉
Love your photos.
noooo I’m not ready yet.. we haven’t been to the beach since last year
Last year? Eeek! Sometimes I forget living in the state with well over 10k lakes that some people can’t easily get to water.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed you get to one soon. We love being by the water! 🙂
I’m loving cooler weather in Atlanta – finally tolerable!
It’s beautiful out there! I was on Lake Michigan for my most of my life, and that was beautiful too, but chilly most of the time!
I miss you!
Yes, Lake Superior is typically chilly too! September is simply tolerable because the summer heat has warmed it up. But it certainly beautiful.
And I miss ya too but look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks! 🙂
so beautiful!
Wow, you would think September would be a little cooler then summer months. It looks so beautiful there.
I’m jealous! Because of Hurricane Irene all our waters are past flood levels and extremely dirty.
I’ve been there. It really is beautiful.
Enjoy your WW!

Looks beautiful! So envious you can just pick up and go visit the beach.
That’s a pretty little getaway spot. Enjoy this weather while you got it, I have a feeling winter is going to suck this year.
Is the water up there ever *really* warm? 😉 I would probably freeze my Florida bootie right off! It sure does look nice! I hope you guys don’t have to bundle up too soon.
No, really it isn’t. 🙂 But it does make for some nice scenery!
It has been pretty nice here so far. It is about 75 right now but who knows. Next week it might be in the 40’s.
Great pictures! As a Floridian, I’m sure our definitions of “warmest” are probably different though. 🙂
So sad to see such a beautiful picture fade away and turn into winter! brrrrrr
summer went by so fast! but i’m glad it’s over, i’m way too pregnant and its’ too hot in az!
We go camping on the North Shore in September – and we honeymooned there in Sept too. My kids love to play in the water no matter the temp. I just have to make sure and pack warm clothes to change into.
