Wordless Wednesday – Goodbye Summer

Living on the shores of Lake Superior, I had only recently learned that September is actually the month where the lake is the warmest. A couple of weeks ago we tested that theory with a trip down to Park Point. We soaked in some rays, got wet and sandy and enjoyed the small crowd mid week. It definitely seemed warmer but not “warm” by any stretch.

I couldn’t help but realize that before long we will be stuck in the house with frigid temperatures and snow storms. All we can do is enjoy the moments while we can.

    1. Last year? Eeek! Sometimes I forget living in the state with well over 10k lakes that some people can’t easily get to water.

I’ll keep my fingers crossed you get to one soon. We love being by the water! 🙂

    1. Yes, Lake Superior is typically chilly too! September is simply tolerable because the summer heat has warmed it up. But it certainly beautiful.

And I miss ya too but look forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks! 🙂

  1. Is the water up there ever *really* warm? 😉 I would probably freeze my Florida bootie right off! It sure does look nice! I hope you guys don’t have to bundle up too soon.

    1. No, really it isn’t. 🙂 But it does make for some nice scenery!

It has been pretty nice here so far. It is about 75 right now but who knows. Next week it might be in the 40’s.

  2. We go camping on the North Shore in September – and we honeymooned there in Sept too. My kids love to play in the water no matter the temp. I just have to make sure and pack warm clothes to change into.
