Recipe Notes

  • You can use any type of apple you like for this recipe. However, firmer apples will hold up better during cooking.
  • Want some crunch? Add some chopped nuts or granola over the top of your fried apples before serving.
  • Switch up the spices to suite your tastes. Use pumpkin pie spice in place of the cinnamon. Or replace 1/2 teaspoon of the cinnamon with 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg.
  • Add in 1/4 cup of raisins or dried cranberries in the last few minutes of cooking for added flavor!

Fried Apples in a Crockpot

  • Spray crockpot with non-stick cooking spray or add a liner. Melt butter.
  • Add sliced apples, brown sugar and cinnamon and toss to coat. Pour melted butter over the top and stir.
  • Cook on high for approximately 2 hours or until the apples are tender.
