Prep Time 30 minutes
Dry Time 1 day
Servings 3 candle holders

Ingredients

  • 3 plastic skeleton hands (dollar tree)
  • 3 glass votives, 4 inches high (dollar tree)
  • 3 LED tealight candles (dollar tree , Walmart or other retailer)
  • black spray paint
  • metallic spray paint copper, silver, gold, rose gold

Instructions

  1. Clean glass votives and fully dry.

  2. In well ventilated area, turn glass votives upside down on large piece of cardboard or layered newspaper. Spray paint votives black, without fully covering the sides for a spooky look.

  3. Using a metallic paint, spray paint skeleton hands. Several coats may be required for full coverage.

  4. Let dry for a full 24 hours before handling.

  5. Using a hot glue gun, attach skeleton hands (facing up) to side of the glass votive, holding firm for 30 seconds. It works best to add the glue to the hands themselves, making sure to test which parts hit the side of the votive when flat against it. This was near the bottom and the top of the palm for mine.

  6. Add LED tealight candle to candle holder and display on a mantel, shelf or tabletop.

Recipe Notes

Tip: Add a wood skewer in the bottom of the plastic skeleton hand and insert into a tall glass or bottle for quicker spray painting and drying.
