I love Not Me! Monday created by My Charming Kids so Iโ€™ll take this time to reflect on what I did not do this past week. Please take a moment to visit MckMama’s blog and support her and her family during this difficult time.

Last week while picking my kids up from daycare, I did not observe another little boy playing in the toilet. Nope, I couldnโ€™t have seen that and kind of laughed as the daycare provider frantically stopped him and cleaned him up. I then did not pause and wonder if my kids have ever played in the toilet? Hmmโ€ฆ

On Saturday I did not marvel at Warrenโ€™s massive poo that I found in his diaper after a long nap. I did not pause for a second in amazement as I looked at the two very different shades and realized he created this masterpiece as two different โ€œsessionsโ€. I then did not call my hubby in to take a look only to have Warren start peeing as soon as he arrived. This pee did not hit Warren in the chest and face. Of course not because I would never delay in getting poop off my kiddoโ€™s little tush. Never. (sorry honey!)

On Easter my son Lucian did not have a blast pretending to be a kitty. He did not walk around going โ€œmeowโ€, wanting to picked up, cuddled and petted like a kitty. He did not decide to start cleaning me as I picked him up to put him on the couch with me. Of course he did not get a tasteful of my sweater as he gave tiny little licks like a kitty. And he definitely didnโ€™t unknowingly lick my chest as he was in transition getting up on the couch. Never would that have happened and if it did, I certainly wouldnโ€™t find myself laughing about it with my hubby and sister while Lucian was total oblivious. Not me!

On our way home from Easter dinner at my parentโ€™s house, I did not happen to notice a bloody nose on my sleeping son. He did not wake up from this and start wiping his face so blood ended up everywhere. So then we didnโ€™t have to stop off at the gas station and clean him up as best we could. When he was super drowsy and I carried him into the house he did not only say, โ€œmeowโ€ a few times as I walked up the stairs and I cleaned up him before putting him in bed. Iโ€™m not wondering why he has decided to become a kitty but instead just enjoying his imagination and kitty cuddles.

  1. Adorable. I’m glad you see the humor in this mothering business. If we don’t all is lost!

  2. I laughed so much about the one that began…..On Saturday I did not marvel.

Stellan isn’t going to Boston and they seem to be getting a handle over the SVT. Hooray!
