Not Me! Monday – #18

I love Not Me! Monday created by My Charming Kids so I’ll take this time to reflect on what I did not do this past week. Please take a moment to visit MckMama’s blog see what she has not been up to herself.

This weekend I did not wear a stained white shirt, yes stained in THREE places, for almost two days straight. Seriously, this is gross. And just because I didn’t go anywhere or do anything but play with the kids, do laundry and clean the house, I would still be looking my best at all times. Just in case someone dropped by. This saddened state might have kept me from going anywhere in the first place because it just felt like too much work to get ready.

I didn’t find these adorable photos I took last week of Warren playing with Daddy’s shoes and decide to share them with you even though I see evidence of me not being perfect in them. (Warren LOVES playing with shoes!) You may notice large crumbs and pieces of food, my husband’s pants with belt still attached hanging in the background (yes, this IS our dining room), our very stained rug and general clutter. If I did see this in pictures I of course wouldn’t be sharing them with the world because I simply must maintain my perfect reputation as a fabulously organized mom with an always clean and clutter free house. (Ha!)

I did not get lazy last night and realize that my camera batteries were dead. Even though I took some great photos this past weekend I was not too tuckered out to bother getting off my butt to get new batteries and recharge the old ones. So I am not holding off some of my pictures for Not Me! Monday until next week. I wouldn’t do this of course. Not me!

And because I find it so much fun to share the silly things my almost three year old says, I can’t resist this story. This morning I did not tell my son he is adorable only to have him reply, “Where? Where is my door bell mommy?” I just had to kiss him right there and chuckle at his misunderstanding.

  1. great photos and "not me's". my shirts are always either stained or covered in dog hair. lil' D still gets into our shoes. the best is when he puts on my heels or dansko's. take care.

  2. Great post! I had to laugh at what your soon said about the door bell…too cute!

  3. LOL, my floor does NOT look the same. I certainly am not currently wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday. =D

  4. My shirts are constantly stained … most of my work shirts have had milk lip stains on them!

  5. You had me laughing so hard, I had tears in my eyes as I was looking around MY living room and the dog food on the floor and my bra (yes, bra) hanging over the lamp – I just can't STAND those things 🙂

Plus just so you know, I DID NOT just take my bath at 4:00 this afternoon, and my kids are grown-up and out of the house!!!

BUT, after all that, the most important thing that your little one will remember, is that you spent time with him and hugged him and loved him and kissed his "door bell". Thanks for sharing such a beautiful story!!!

  6. I enjoyed reading your blog. Thank you for sharing. There’s a new game on Wednesday's its….”What would your children say?” Wednesday. You can see the details by going to the link on my home page that says, “What would your children say?” Wednesday. I hope you can join in the fun
