Welcome to this weekโ€™s edition of Aloha Friday.

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, Iโ€™ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question:
Have you ever run a marathon?

My answer: No! My husband is running his first full marathon (26.2 miles) tomorrow. He has run a half marathon for the past two years and finally decided to do the full. It has been a huge time commitment for both him and myself but he has been so dedicated. I’m so proud! I know he can do it since he has ran 24 miles before but I’m really hoping he gets decent weather. When it is too hot/sunny/humid it really gets hard for all the runners. I’ll be sure to post some pics of him if I can get any that look decent. Last year I just got one with his eyes closed! ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. I haven't, but I'm not much of a runner. DH ran the Boston Marathon in 2001 and plans to do it again. Does that count for me?

  2. Only a half marathon – twice and hated it both times! I've been power walking for years instead and love it!!

  3. NO! I doubt I ever will have the motivation to train for a Marathon. I wish I could say yes though. Lol

  4. I have never run a marathon. I have been doing 5k's on the treadmill at the gym . I prefer the A/C to our 92 degree heat. I also like that the treadmill forces me to keep a constant speed. If I was outside I would walk it. My hubby does 5k & 8k races. I hope you get a chance to run over to my blog and see my It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood post. Maybe you have an answer to my question. Take care and have a great weekend.

  5. Honolulu 1998 for the Leukemia Society. I mostly walked it, but that counts, right?? I hope to NEVER do one again!! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Well, I would want to try to run a marathon. That would have been such an experience!
But I'm still to weak and undernourished to last a marathon, sadly… T_T
