Cooking with my Frigidaire Gallery Double Oven Range #FrigidaireMoms

Last month I told you about the new Frigidaire Gallery® Range with Symmetry™ Double Oven I was lucky enough to receive and I’ve had such a great time testing out different features this past month. In case you don’t remember, this is my beautiful new stove.

Besides getting used to a stove with the convenience of two ovens, the biggest adjustment has been switching to a glass cooktop. I no longer have to worry about food dropping down below the burners and burning or pans that won’t sit level. I also get the added convenience of be able to choose between two sizes on two of my burners. The only downside is learning the proper maintenance but I’ll cover that in another post.
The front burner to the left offers me a choice between either a 6 inch or 9 inch burner while the one to my right gives me the option of a 9 or 12 inch burner. (The burners in the back are 6 inches.) It is easy to know which size you are using by the single or double circle at the top of the dial. The burners heat up fast and it is simple to tell when they are hard at work by their dark red coils. I have never used a 12 inch before but it will be awesome when I have to use our large stockpot for larger gatherings! The left side has a quick boil feature which I’ve found makes that burner seem to run hotter, even when set to the same temperatures. I wish this wasn’t the case but now that we know that I always look to using the 9/12″ burner first and know to use a lower temperature if using the 6/9″ burner.

While I do use the oven often, I use my new cooktop the most. I really love the even cooking and while getting used to the changes took a  bit as with any new appliance, I am really excited with the results.

I recently made an awesome sesame chicken and was a little nervous simply because it has brown sugar in the sauce. The cooktop is susceptible to damage from sugar if not removed immediately but I had no problems with splatter at all. The chicken cooked a nice and even golden brown and was super juicy in the center. It was so good my husband and I couldn’t stop raving about it and my pregnant self was craving it for days afterwards.

Is anyone else as hungry as I am right about now?

  1. That sounds like a fabulous cook top. I could use an extra burning. We have a glass top now but it only has 2 small and 2 large burners which can be a total pain most nights because we cook a lot of sides with our meals. I’m looking forward to hearing about the ovens.

  2. I was JUST telling my husband about this! My big burner went out on Thanksgiving day in the middle of cooking. Cant afford one of these babies right now but sure would love to have one too. I love EVERYthing about it!
