Family Adventure On Lake Superior with Frito-Lay and Skylanders® #GoodFunForAll

Earlier this month I shared how my family is trying to enjoy these last days of summer. Frito-Lay offered to help us with a family activity before my kids go back to school next week, so I planned a fun-filled day that I knew everyone would enjoy.
To start our day, I packed up a picnic lunch, and we headed out to Leif Erikson Park. It was a beautiful, sunny day. We found a shaded spot, under a big tree.
We enjoyed sandwiches, fresh fruit and an assortment of chips from the Skylanders® Frito-Lay Variety Pack. My kids love getting to pick out their own bag of chips.
Everyone was hungry, and the food went fast! The kids love getting to eat on a picnic blanket outside in the park.
We enjoyed a cool breeze and people watching in the park. After eating lunch the boys were full of energy, so they ran races across the park.
Our youngest Wesley had to get in on the fun and started running with his older brothers.
My husband Joe got in on the action, and I felt so content as I snapped photos of them all having fun.
We walked around after our picnic, enjoying the gorgeous views of Lake Superior.
We made our way over to the rose garden to enjoy all the beauty and fragrance surrounding the area.
The boys stopped to smell the roses. (How we not?)
But mostly they explored the space and enjoyed just being outdoors.
It was a picture perfect day. Afterwards we headed home so Wes could take a nap before continuing with our family adventure.
For dinner, we hopped aboard the Vista Fleet Star for a pizza cruise.
We saw amazing views of Lake Superior, including the cities of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI.
My kids loved waving to everyone on land and taking in all the scenery.
It was a beautiful night, and the boys loved loading up on pizza.
The boys didn’t want to sit still for too long. They wanted to explore the ship. (Warren loves sunglasses, so he was obsessed with wearing his new Skylanders® sunglasses.)
The clouds came in after dinner, but it didn’t rain. Instead, it just created a cool backdrop for all the ships in the harbor.
Wesley loved being on the ship. While we’ve lived here all their lives, our boys have never been on a dinner cruise.
This was a great opportunity to learn more about our city and Lake Superior.
And I got to take in great family moments like these. Moments that I know won’t last forever.
