Earlier this month we had spring break. I would say enjoyed spring break, but that is tough with one boy who was very sick for several days and the weather was horrid. It was rainy, overcast and foggy for much of the week, making it hard to get outdoors. Thankfully on their last day it was beautiful! Everyone was feeling good, the sun was shining and it was 65 degrees. Perfect spring weather for heading outside.  To really celebrate the turn in the weather, I decided to treat my three boys to lunch at Dairy Queen after they burned off some energy at the park. They were thrilled!

Did you know?

This month, DQ is celebrating its 75th “Fanniversary” highlighting its legendary Blizzard treat and is asking America to #GetUpsideDown. That means when Fans visit their local DQ restaurant and order any Blizzard treat during the month of April, it will be served upside down or it’s free on their next visit. Pretty cool, right?

Dairy Queen Blizzard Get Upside DownIn partnership with Oreo, America’s favorite cookie and key ingredient in one of DQ’s best-selling Blizzard treats of all time, DQ is showing off its thick, creamy soft serve by flipping the treats upside down. I treated myself to an Oreo blizzard as an upgrade with my $5 Buck Lunch which was kindly brought to our table with the rest of our food. Sure enough, it was served upside down. Lucian thought it was super cool and even quizzed the server on who it was possible. (She explained it is because of extra thick soft serve.)

Dairy Queen TreatsBringing my boys to Dairy Queen for sweet treats really brings me back to my childhood. I grew up in a small town and we didn’t have a lot of restaurants. One thing we could always look forward to after the cold winter months was when the local Dairy Queen would open back up. It always meant that spring had finally arrived!
