The Juice with Kyra Sedgwick ~from Tropicana ~ {Giveaway}

The Juice is brought to you by and in support of Tropicana Top 50 which contains 50% less calories and 50% less sugar. How sweet is that? (Pun totally intended…) You will find The Juice online community on BlogHer and according to them, this is where you can share your own practical ideas and tips on how to get more of what you want and less of what you don’t. The Juice is all about the “good stuff.”
I poked around the site and found myself listening to their yoga video with interest. I rather enjoyed that their questions and responses seemed a little less polished and a little more real. More like you were listening to your friends versus the nightly news. I finally learned why we do eye exercises at the beginning of yoga.
Here is a sneak peak of the upcoming episode airing Monday, July 20th and featuring Jory of BlogHer and Kyra Sedgwick from The Closer. (Don’t forget to turn up the sound!)
The Juice has given me a $200 Patagonia gift card to give to one of my readers! (Now that dear readers, IS sweet!)
Win it: Tell me how you try to be green or your favorite green tip. (Please no “enter me” or “I want to win” type answers.)

I recycle and use cloth diapers and wipes…and I don't use paper towels.
How I try to be "green":
* I breastfeed.
* We keep lights off when not in use.
* We buy secondhand.
* We buy organic whole milk.
* We try to support local farmers.
* We limit "outings" during the week.

Don't brush your teeth with the water running. I just dampen the brush with water, shut off water, brush, then rinse with my mouthwash.
I recycle everything I can. I just purchased BPA free reusable water bottles in hopes of cutting out bottled water. I unplug my toaster and microwave when they're not being used. My TV and accessories are on a power strip that is turned off unless those items are being used, as is my computer and it's accessories. I also use green light bulbs and streamline my errand running, so I am not adding to air pollutants and using less fuel.
Our green tip is living small. We chose to buy a sub-900 sf house for our family of three (soon to be four). It is more than enough space, and it makes us very conscious about purchasing unwanted things. We have installed ceiling fans to further cut down energy costs, and spend a lot of time outdoors.
Thanks for this giveaway!

I try to buy energy efficient bulbs and to recylce as much as possible.
We don't use household cleaners anymore and don't buy canned foods (which was hard at first for a big bean eating family). Instead we use simple solutions and use the crockpot to cook fresh dry beans.

I purchase biodegradable, corn-based kitty litter – better for the environment and my beloved felines!
We use cloth diapers, biodegradable laundry detergent, hang clothes on the clothesline… there are many things we do, but those are my favorites!
