The Juice is brought to you by and in support of Tropicana Top 50 which contains 50% less calories and 50% less sugar. How sweet is that? (Pun totally intended…) You will find The Juice online community on BlogHer and according to them, this is where you can share your own practical ideas and tips on how to get more of what you want and less of what you don’t. The Juice is all about the “good stuff.”

I poked around the site and found myself listening to their yoga video with interest. I rather enjoyed that their questions and responses seemed a little less polished and a little more real. More like you were listening to your friends versus the nightly news. I finally learned why we do eye exercises at the beginning of yoga.

Here is a sneak peak of the upcoming episode airing Monday, July 20th and featuring Jory of BlogHer and Kyra Sedgwick from The Closer. (Don’t forget to turn up the sound!)

The Juice has given me a $200 Patagonia gift card to give to one of my readers! (Now that dear readers, IS sweet!)

Win it: Tell me how you try to be green or your favorite green tip. (Please no “enter me” or “I want to win” type answers.)

  1. I go green by raising my own chickens for eggs and meat, us the poo in my organic garden and feed the wildlife and wildbirds at the same time.

I conserve water by mulching to keep the moisture in the ground where it belongs instead of evaporating. I have my friends and family save egg cartons and recycle them with my homegrown eggs.

  2. We try to eliminate as much extra packaging as possible- use shopping bags, buy in large packs and put in reusable containers, pack bento or lunches in reusable containers, reusable water bottles etc…

  3. I learned that every week they will start a new discussion around our weekly video, and look at what we can bring into our lives, and what we can drop.

  4. My "green" tip is to unplug items you're not using. Things like the microwave and toaster use electricity just being plugged in. So I unplug all electronic items I don't use.

  5. I wanted to be green so I bought a 1981 VW Rabbit diesel that has been converted to vegetable oil. Not only I am going green, but in style. I can drop that 2.5 inches and put it on 18s! I freakin LOVE VWs!

  6. This is a money saving tip as well as a green tip! Being the “clean freak” that I am I found I was spending so much money per month on home cleaning products. I was discussing this with some friends when one of my very earth friendly savvy friends told me about her recipe for a natural home cleaning product. It is easy to make, safe for the family and contains no toxic ingredients. It is a Creamy Soft Scrubber. You simply pour about 1/2 cup of baking soda into a bowl, and add enough liquid detergent to make a texture like frosting. Scoop the mixture onto a sponge, and wash the surface. This is the perfect recipe for cleaning the bathtub because it rinses easily and doesn’t leave grit. Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin to the mixture and store in a sealed glass jar, to keep the product moist. Otherwise just make as much as you need at a time. I have been using this for the past 3 months or so and it works fabulously! The cost to make this is less than $1 so if you are like me, and are constantly cleaning this will save you $$$ every month! Perhaps someone here will find this tip useful, I hope so!
