Last month, Wesley turned 3 years old. I can’t believe my little guy has gotten so big. We’ve been working on potty training the past few weeks. It certainly is an exciting milestone and one I can’t wait for him to master. I admit the idea of not having anyone in diapers is a bit exciting. He had been showing signs of readiness, especially with #2. He hasn’t wanted to have a poopy diaper so he’s been doing all his business of that nature in the toilet without much prompting! Feels like a total win for me.
Unfortunately, going pee on the potty every time hasn’t been quite as successful. We’ve been going through underwear and pants left and right. Even though we’ve been using a ton of positive reinforcement and plenty of bathroom trips, Wesley has a tendency to dribble. So even on those times that he does make it, his underwear is still getting wet. And while he can go a couple of hours without needing a bathroom break, sometimes he needs to go every 20 minutes or so. It is really hard to anticipate that and he is still learning those cues himself.
I want this to be a positive journey for Wesley, and that is why I really appreciate training pants such as Pampers Easy Ups. They’ve been great for overnight and for outings when I know we can’t get to a bathroom as quickly. They can really help the diaper-to-underwear transition by allowing potty-training toddlers to set aside their diapers and wear something with more of an underwear-like design that still helps keep accidental messes off clothing, bedding and other surfaces no matter whether they happen at home, on-the-go or overnight. I know Wesley at first resisted giving up diapers and made the transition to training pants much easier. I think he just need something more familiar than regular underwear. He also loves that his Pampers Easy Ups feature Thomas the Train.
Pampers Easy Ups have fewer leaks than the other leading training pant to help simplify and improve the overall potty training experience. Pampers Easy Ups have an absorbent core that holds 25% more than the other leading training pant to help ensure little ones remain dry. Plus, with up to 12 hours of protection, it works during the day AND night, enabling toddlers and moms to confidently and completely transition from diapers towards underwear.
I have no doubt that Wesley will be fully potty trained soon. But until then, I’m going to do everything I can to make this a happy experience for him. I’ll let him set the pace and when he is ready to wear underwear full time, we’ll make that transition. For now, we’ll do a combination of underwear and training pants to keep his confidence.

I have finished potty training our 3 year old, and now her 18 month old sister is interested. So, i guess i will be starting again soon!
My tip is to be patient and wait until your child is ready.
Don’t rush them! Gosh, with my first daughter that set her back so badly. With my 2nd daughter we’re going to wait until she is showing signs that she’s ready.
Remember that each child is different and let them go at their own pace.
my advice is to not pressure and be patient. It’s a big deal and anxiety will not help anyone in this situation.
My favorite tip is to use bribery… or a reward chart.
Be patient and remember that accidents and setbacks happen.
have a rewards chart and be patient.
My potty training tip is to be patient and understand that accidents happen.
My best tips are to wait until they show signs of readiness to potty train and to train in warm weather when they need fewer layers of clothing.
I do not have kids, so I have never done this, but I do have a funny story from my own childhood and will share that for my entry. I hope that is OK! 😀 ANYWAY, apparently, when I was in the potty-training phase, I did NOT want to participate. LOL I was three and my mom was at her wits end with me. She even took me to a shrink! LOL ANYWAY, he told her to strap me to the potty until I used it. Isn’t that nuts? This was the 1970s, so I guess things were different. LOL Anyway, it apparently worked. LOL She even took a pic of me sitting on my toilet, strapped in, watching the Flintstones! LOL
One day we just switched to undies, no turning back. He had a few accidents and we are still working on it, but going well so far.
my potty training tip is to give they something to read and reward them!
My best tip is to remember to be patient.
waiting for the child to be ready.
I will start potty training for my 14 month old baby soon!
Thank You for the great giveaway!
I used stickers during the potty training episodes.
It will be a little while before we potty train, she is just turning one!
When he’s ready, he’s only a year now but he’ll be ready sooner than later.
My favorite tip is to let the child take the lead. The moment you try to force the issue, that is the moment that the child will balk at any type of training.
