Thank you to Quaker for sponsoring today’s giveaway and sending me a small gift. All thoughts are my own.

Breakfast is an important part of our day. It is how we start our morning off right, together around our dining room table. On cool mornings nothing warms us up like some delicious oatmeal. My 3 and 7 year olds especially love Quaker Maple and Brown Sugar Instant Oatmeal topped with raisins. During the work week, my husband needs items that he can store at his desk after he hits the gym in the early morning. He likes anything with protein and especially loves steel cut oats! And while we might all have our favorites, we can all agree that beginning our day with a full belly certainly starts us off at our best.

National Oatmeal Day

Did you hear that today is National Oatmeal Day? Quaker believes that everyone should begin each morning prepared for the good things that lie ahead. That’s why, starting on National Oatmeal Day, Quaker is giving away up to one million bowls of 100% whole grain oatmeal to help give people across the country a great start to their day.

  1. Thank you for the giveaway. We try to keep mornings positive. It can be difficult sometimes with two teenagers, but we do whatever we can to keep a positive mood before everyone heads off for the day. We try to make sure our teens have a good, healthy, and filling breakfast as well.

  2. We each try to do one chore each morning and that really helps keep things together – we’re normally too tired/busy in the evenings to get much done!

  3. We don’t really have any morning preparations – my kids do lay out their clothes the night before though

  4. We try to eat a nice healthy breakfast, but sometimes it is hard on-the-go, we always like to take a minute to chat about our goals for the day.

  5. OU rmornings are a litle chaotic, there’s some overlap but generally we are all running around in our way to get ready for the day. We need to get more organized!

  6. I miss living at home actually. My grandmother would often make us oats in the mornings. That was my favorite breakfast!

  7. Monday-Friday up at five am to get my oldest up for school while he is in the shower its coffee for me and then when he is done getting ready breakfast and out the door for school then back in to do it all over with my youngest.

  8. We start off the morning with a healthy and filling breakfast to keep their tummies full and give them energy for the day.

  9. I actually REALLY need to get better at this with my kids and as a family. But we always tell each other to love each other and have a good day. And we always have breakfast of some kind.

  10. I always start my day with eating oatmeal and toast. My kids wont try it they would rather have cereal but i prefer oatmeal.
