Stride Rite Halloween Shoes Complete the Look: Wesley’s Elmo Costume

I love getting good quality shoes for my boys.  Since I typically only buy them a couple of pairs for each size, I want them to be very comfortable and fit great. One brand that I love is Stride Rite.  I discovered Stride Rite SRT Technology in 2009 when my middle son was only 1 1/2.  They were by far our favorite pair of shoes we’ve ever owned for our kids. We don’t have a store locally so I typically shop online or hit up any store we see when we are traveling. When I was asked to try out a pair of themed Stride Rite shoes for a Halloween costume,  I didn’t hesitate.

I browsed the Stride Rite Trick or Feet Halloween page and found these Elmo shoes using that same SRT Technology we loved so much. I really like how they are cute but still feature the leather and suede. And isn’t it absolutely adorable that Elmo is embracing my little guy’s foot with a hug?

When I showed my 19 month old his new shoes, he immediately smiled and said, “Elmo!” It was too cute. I showed him his Elmo costume and at first he thought it was a big stuffed animal. He started to hug Elmo and kiss him on his nose. I could have died from all the cute. And once he saw himself in the mirror his smile lit up the room!

I took Wes outside so he could try out his new shoes, and try them out he did. He was very steady and seemed to really like how they felt. He was walking as fast as he could around our yard, sometimes even stomping his feet for fun. You can see a couple of more pictures on my Instagram, here and here. Those shoes definitely finish off his look and since then I’ve been giving him a choice in which shoes he wears. So far he always asks for his Elmo shoes!

To keep our kids safer we always are a big part of their trick or treating fun. We walk with them to each and every house and hold hands when crossing the street.  We also inspect any candy that they eat. For a more enjoyable experience, we all eat dinner before we head out and wear the proper outwear for the weather. Often it is cold here in Minnesota!
