If there’s one thing that most parents know, it’s that babies go through diapers faster than anything. Every Day Life states that on average a newborn may require nine or more diaper changes in a day. Web MD states that at first she will likely require frequent changings but as she ages, they will likely decrease. But parents on a budget often fear buying too many diapers at once because babies grow so quickly and they don’t want to find the money. When you find a great deal, especially if they are free diapers,  you should take advantage of it so long as you can afford it. Here are some reasons from Rebecca Mcswain why you can never have too many diapers.

Slightly Smaller Diapers Can Work in a Pinch

If you’re in a pinch and you don’t have any other diapers in the appropriate size, a slightly smaller diaper can work in a pinch. Be cautious when fastening it though. It shouldn’t squeeze your baby too tight or leave red marks. You’ll also need to check your baby more frequently. CHealth states that overly snug diapers can lead to faster cases of diaper rash because waste is held so much closer to the skin. However, your baby won’t develop diaper rash within an hour. In that amount of time, you can likely get additional diapers in the appropriate size. If you need more time, make sure to check your baby regularly.

Honest Company Diaper Bundle

Always in Need

One of the best reasons to take advantage of free diaper deals and baby bundles from places like Honest Company is because those items can always be used. Even if your baby grows out of them fast, diapers and similar baby supplies are some of the most sought after items at places like women and children’s shelters and crisis nursery centers. Most of these places will take even opened packages of diapers, but it’s best to ask before dropping anything off.  You can also contact friends and ask if they know anyone who could use some extra diapers in the size you have available. You’ll almost always be able to find someone in need so these items are never wasted.

Perfect Baby Shower Present

Having extra diapers on hand can also be the perfect gift for a baby showers! Don’t worry if they’re a little too large for a newborn. That new baby will grow into them quickly, and parents will appreciate having some sizes for down the road. A diaper bouquet or diaper cake is one of the more popular baby shower solutions and is perfect for those opened diaper packages.  Not only is it clever, but it requires that you open the pack and roll up the diapers. You can dress it up further with a pretty satin ribbon and other small baby items such as toys and socks.

If you don’t want to go through the hassle of rolling the diapers into a bouquet or cake, you can also give a diaper basket. Choose a decorative basket and arrange the diapers. You can tie a ribbon around all of the diapers or just around the basket. For a little extra bonus, add baby products like baby wipes and baby lotion.

Extra Absorbent Paper Towels

If there’s one thing diapers are good at, it’s absorbing messes. Consider keeping those diapers that are too small on hand for large spills. You can set the diaper over the top of the substance and let it soak up for a few minutes and then use the diaper to scoop it up. For the best results, open the diaper and place the rear portion on the largest part of the spill. This is the most heavily enforced part and the most absorbent for picking up solid waste. If it’s just milk or liquids, then don’t worry about which side. Just open the diaper and place it absorbent side down.
