Wordless Wednesday – Another Amazing Trip to the Zoo

For Labor Day weekend this year we made another trip to IKEA (long story) and stopped off at the Como Zoo in St. Paul for some fun with the boys. I absolutely adore this affordable zoo and theme park. With lots of amazing animals and affordable prices ($2 recommended donation for adults, $1 for children) it is hard to resist.

We saw some beautiful lions, giraffes, sea lions and so much more.

My favorite part was when this bear decided to “swim” with the children for several minutes. It was very cool and the two little guys with hats in the picture are mine. They loved it.

But of course Lucian’s favorite part was his train ride. He couldn’t stop beaming afterward!

On a side note, I just have to chuckle at my husband. Because while I had the camera most of the time and captured shots like this,

for the few minutes he had the camera he captured this awesome one of me and the boys (my proof I was even there)

and the only animal picture he captured was of a gorilla’s butt. Sigh…

It is no wonder that I keep the camera.

  1. Looks like tons of fun and you got some great pics! We are waitin for it to cool off a bit more here in TX and then plan on taking the boys now that the baby is old enough.

  2. That’s awesome that the zoo is that cheap! Our zoo here is like $6 for children and $9 for adults. So we usually only go once a summer because of that. LOL at the pictures your hubby took. The gorilla butt is a definite keeper.

  3. Very similar situation to mine, i am always keeping camera, so i am sure, that there wont be only ”butt pictures” LOL.
I`m surprised about prices! They are more than affordable..
Zoo is one of our family favorite places, so we are visiting it very often. There are already nick names for some animals given by my kids 🙂

  4. We have a MN zoo membership but love Como too. I have fond memories of the polar bears there and are so glad they upgraded the enclosure. I’m thinking of going even though it’s cold now. Figure we can camp out at the new polar bear building to warm up.
